I live in Milwaukee too, where is the one in our area?

The Comp USA located near Milwaukee is in Brookfield on Bluemound Rd. I went there once and could not stand the store so I never returned.

doesn't look like any in Ohio are closing, although, I only know about the dayton and cincinnati stores.

I'm loosing the one near me and the other one I occasionally went to. That leaves only 1 in the state of MA. First I lost my Circuit City, now this.

Jez... why the fuck is CompUSA doing so WELL in Florida? That's annoying.

Actually, here in Orlando the store is always packed for some reason. Man, I want Fry's Electronics sooo bad (I go to Austin, TX constantly for business and that place is my altar).

I'll try to hit Oxnard this weekend.

Glad the Goleta store will still be open.

Even though there is a Circuit City in Santa Barbara, no Best Buy and no Fry's means plenty of business for them.

And I have 25 months left on my warranty for my laptop...

I went to the store in Brighton, MA yesterday. No signage up or anything, no sales.

I needed some new headphones for my iPod so I picked up a 6.99 pair of JVC buds, I get to the counter, and they ring up 10.99. I tell the guy the price tag says 6.99 and he says,
"We're closing, so everything costs more now." and then proceeds to get in an arguement with me because I don't want them and I say that going out of business and raising prices makes no sense.

Prime example my friends of why CompUSA is closing in the first place.

Heh, I guess my store is closing. Closest Store: 88.7 Miles

And given the previous story, I guess I won't be hitting up the local store (Brighton)...

Yeah, it wasn't a very good store. Other than the black friday bargains I got last November, I don't think I had ever made a purchase there...

I still think I am going to check it out after work, unless someone else can get their sooner and see if there are any good deals going on.

Holy Batman!!! Look up the definition of "bassackwards" and you'll find a link to this post! What in the world was that dude thinking?!?!

And speaking of that, I'm curious as to why so many are clamoring for a Fry's in their neighborhood. Did the customer service at Fry's suddenly take a supersonic flight forward? Google the phrase "I Hate Fry's" and do some reading before you start asking for them to put up a store... IMHO, their customer service was NO better than CompUSA's.

I'm dying for a Fry's in Boise (fat chance) not because of their customer service, but their outstanding pricing and HUGE selection of just about anything ever created in electronics.

Exactly. What you are missing in CS, you are gaining in pricing and selection. Their weekly deals are generally much better than other stores.

I live in Milwaukee too, where is the one in our area?
I stopped by there yesterday. Not sure what the deal is, but nothing appeared to be "liquidated". No signs or anything. It's on my way home from work so I will probably swing by again today to see if anything has changed.

Yeah, anything on sale for a good price was guaranteed NOT to be in stock.
