DVD Empire - Sony Sales ($4.99, $7.99, $10.99)

Just saw this on their homepage. A "DVD Savings Blast" as they're calling it. Lots of Sony titles available at three price levels. $4.99, $7.99 and $10.99.

Main page for the sale
$4.99 List
$7.99 List
$10.99 List

I don't see an expiration date. Just "Offer good only while supplies last."

Thanks for the effort OP, but I don't recall the last time one of DVD EMPIRE's "sales" was worthwhile.

Not sure why the completely unwarrented slam on Dvd Empire. The 4.99 titles are more than a dollar less than any other etailer (of course most are Sonys crappy fullscreens, but thats not the point).

They are my favorite company to order from. They ship for free (with 3 dvds) and they ship same day. I have never waited more than 2 days to recieve an order (wheras I am STILL waiting to get my DDD order from 2 weeks ago).

Let's not forget $10 off for Google checkout, so you can get 3 $4.99 titles for $4.97 SHIPPED!!! Or one of the $10.99 titles for $3.04 SHIPPED!

I think HE Pennypacker was more referring to their recent b0g0 set sale where the sets were "priced" @ MSRP instead of the normal discounts.

Yeah, that sale sucked, but he shouldn't slam this sale without looking at it.

Hudson Hawk for $4.99, that's $1.06 (20%) less than you can get it at DDD or anywhere else.

"Bunny! Ball ball!"

"I feel like a dolphin who's never tasted melted snow. What does the color blue taste like? Bobo knows? Ha, ha, ha, ha, ha! I must speak with the dolphins now. Eeeee-eeee-eee-eeeeeee!"

"MY PENSION!"

I picked up a few for $3.04 after GC. A couple of them said "only one left" when I bought them also.

There were a few decent things in that sale. If a title sold out, it'd revert to the normal discounted price, then when it came back in stock, it'd stay at that price for a short time before they jacked it back up. Plus, it'd take off the full discount (the msrp of that set) instead of the normal price. I managed to pick up season 1 & 2 of Angel for $22.57 shipped. I only got one order in, though....after that, it seemed like everything stayed out of stock until the sale was over.

I picked up Arlington Road, Apt Pupil and Men in Black for ~$8. I got very excited at first because the front page lists bottle rocket for $4.99, but it's since gone OOS and also up in price a bit. Since it was OOS I couldn't use Google Checkout on it. But since -$10 deal is apparently ending today, and I had used one of my two credit cards for an account, I figured I might as well get three DVD's just for the heck of it. Roughly $2.70 a piece is a GREAT price, even though I'm not super excited about any of these particular movies :P

DVD Empire may not have the cheapest prices, but their service is top notch. I get my orders very quickly and they are always packed nicely. I had a return recently on a defective disc and the turnaround time was extremely fast. Good company.
