I've seen about 8-10 of all three sitting around three different Best Buys as late as last week

shacmasta 02-10-07 04:43 PM

Me too

HE Pennypacker 02-10-07 05:16 PM

I like.

They still haven't discounted the big boxed sets of some dvds (eg robot chicken) at my local. persistent bastards! maybe I'll give this a shot tho

ohhh it's the price online...hmm. I wonder if they'll do it instore...

SI78 02-10-07 06:29 PM

Thanks! I ran down to Best Buy. The clerk was surprised to see Superman and Lex ring up at a quarter. Clark Kent came up $4.99 but they adjusted it to a quarter for me as well.

$1.50 for two sets of figurines.

Not bad! Thanks again to the OP!

kenbuzz 02-10-07 06:31 PM

Sold out online now. At least here locally.

TimeandTide 02-10-07 06:57 PM

Ordered mine from BB and chose in-store pick-up at the Rancho Cucamonga, CA, location. Had two of the Superman statues on the shelves and plenty in the back from what I understand. The CSR did a double-take when he saw the price.

Great item for a quarter!

TheMovieman 02-10-07 07:00 PM

Well, no Lex Luthor at mine but I did pick up Superman and Clark Kent (I did pay $4.99 for that one and 25 cents for the other). $5.48, not bad for something that had a sticker price of $30 each...

Pookymeister 02-10-07 07:25 PM

it shouldn't be YMMV.

hotwls13 02-10-07 08:02 PM

No lexs at mine. I did get a couple Supermen though. They also had the Clark Kents for $5. I wonder if I could get them to override them to .25 cents.

dollfins1 02-10-07 09:18 PM

hope they have some left by the time i get there. they had a bunch a week ago.

The Valeyard 02-10-07 10:20 PM

No Lex at mine either. Just Supes.

stevevm 02-10-07 10:24 PM

Ir won't let me do an in store pick up.
But It says they have all 3 available at my Best Buy.
So i will go as soon as they open tomorrow morning.
Going to get Barnyard & World Trade Center anways at $10each.

Actually it says of the 5 within so many miles 4 have stock of all 3.

TheMovieman 02-10-07 10:28 PM

^ Well, mine also said Lex Luthor was available but they didn't. In fact, even when these first came out, I don't think they ever had the Luthor statues.

Kind of off topic, but I didn't want to start a whole new thread. Is that Superman Ultimate Collectors set (the tin) just a limited time thing? I can't find it anywhere!

No Lexs here either, and only one Clark. They did indeed override it to 25 cents without any fuss...

They're selling stock down then eventually re-releasing it is the lat they've said. A lot of best buys just got more in...CC's occasionally have some as well.

$30 each? The ones I saw were tagged with the usual BB yellow sticker at $4.99. Doubt these were ever retailing for THAT much.

The Supes I picked up had 3 price tags on it... $29.99, $14.99, and $4.99

TheJoker 02-11-07 12:07 AM

They are not worth 40 bucks to begin with.

Its made out of plastic.....some parts.....

ScottsDvds 02-11-07 12:12 AM

They were originally $29.99 or $9.99 with the purchase of any Superman DVD.

TheMovieman 02-11-07 12:55 AM

All of the ones at my BB had the $29.99 price tag and the guy I talked to had no idea about the price reduction (nor did the cashier).

TheJoker 02-11-07 01:10 AM

You should have just told them to scan it. No one knows about this but it should be nationwide.

The No Man 02-11-07 08:45 AM

I'm gonna head over to BB this morning when they open to see if they have em. It'll cost more in gas than the actual figures themselves!
