Sundance Film Festival Collection for $35 at Bestprices.com
The Sundance Film Festival Collection is $35 at BestPrices.com.
It has MSRP of $149.99
I am not a fan of this sort of stuff. To me, these documentary/movies can at best be watched once.

Looks like it includes:
Sex, Lies, And Videotape
American Splendor
Clerks
Usual Suspects
Smoke Signals
American Movie
Boy's Don't Cry
In The Bedroom
Real Women Have Curves
Capturing The Friedmans
I have 5 of them already, but I went ahead and did a Google checkout order for $31 shipped (priority mail).
Thanks for the heads up OP.

to those who have seen these movies already, is it worth getting.
I am always kind of hesitant with this sort of things because all of these all low budget movies/documentary which doesn't look too professional...
The only one I have seen is "Capturing the Friedmans" years ago on cable.
can these programs really be watched more than once?

I've been wanting both the American titles and Capturing the Friedmans, and it was cheaper buying the box than getting them separately.
I'm guessing that Friedmans is missing the bonus disk?

If I am understanding your personal thoughts on what is shown at Sundance think about this: If you had not known these were from Sundance and you watched some of the films - you would not even be thinking about low budget this or unprofessional that.
Repeated viewings? It all depends obviously. Many of them deal with heavy subject matter. Others don't. I can watch In The Bedroom over and over because of the great cinematography and acting. I can watch Capturing the Friedmans over and over as well because I find out something new each time. I can watch The Usual Suspects over and over even if a certain part of the film isn't surprising anymore.
What types of films do you find not up to repeat viewings?
Good thing with the box set is that it offers a wide variety of genres and is not set on one exact "thing". Very eclectic selections.

Still a great deal.

Thanks, that was what I figured. I only want certain movies, not sure if I will jump on this or not.

Buy it at Family Video for $31.80 and $0.99 shipping. Try code NEWMEM96 for $5 off (might be expired) if you haven't purchased there before.

these have been sub-$40 on amazon marketplace for sometime, even new. good deals though, and thanks OP. i'm not pointing out it is a bad deal, just saying that it isn't a total steal, and potential resale value will be limited.

I can't believe they released this set in 2005 and included the old, non-anamorphic DVD of the Usual Suspects when an anamorphic release had already been around for three years by then.
I'd been wanting a few of these for a while, so I sucked it up and ordered so thanks for posting this. Smoke Signals is also non-anamorphic, apparently, but who knows when that will get another release.
