Even without coupons this is a great sale. For $226.93 using Ship-to-Home I got: Babylon 5 (S1-S5), Northern Exposure (S1-3), and Xena WP (S5) for a total of eight box sets. Not bad at all.

Star Trek - The Original Series 1-3
Prisoner - Complete Series (40th Ann.)

Total Shipped To Home Price - $102.61

To get the same thing at DDD during their 20% sale would be over $75 more expensive.

Also, they took off the s&h for the first time, so I will try and go back and get a refund on the 4 orders that they charged me for it.

I am not a BN member. The nearest BN store to me is about 40 minutes away.
I am interested in getting the Doctor Who Season 1 and 2. Are there automtic 10% reduciton on the MSRP on these boxsets in store. Can I buy both these boxset as part of the b1g1 sale and use the 15% off printed coupon? Online, the Doctor Who season 2 set is not in the b1g1 free sale.

The breakdown should be:

100 - MSRP
90 - After automatic 10% off either in-store or ship-to-home(this is for everyone)
76.50 - After 15% off coupon (I am pretty sure you don't need to be a member)
Then 76.50 multiplied by whatever your tax rate is.

You should be able to get both sets either in-store (if they have them in-stock) or using ship-to-home.

Some people have said the Dr. Who - Season 2 might be out of stock when trying to do a ship-to-home, so they might not let you get that one.

If they only have S2 in stock at your local store, but not S1, they should be able to give you one on the spot, and order the other with ship to home. They did that once for me...

Yes and no. There is nothing "stopping" them for doing it. However, an email went out 2 days ago saying they are not allowed to order anything not in stock in the warehouse. So, you need to find a clerk that will do it. Don't try it with a manager (worse odds). Just yesteday, I ordered Magilla Gorilla which is not in stock, so I know it can be done. You just need an uninformed employee...

They can't track it in store, even if you are a member. I've used it many times. However, if the clerk remembers you, then you could be SOL. That happened to me once. But there are 3 different 15% off coupons, so you could say, "no, I used this other one" and show proof that there are different coupons...

I was able to get reimbursed for the s&h charges that I paid for the ship-to-home orders, so I can confirm that they definately should not be charging you anything if its over $25.

Also can confirm that they do not link the 15% coupon to your account (in-store) as I was able to use it for the 2nd time today.

What do you mean by "ordered" in store?

The "ship to home" option that about half of this thread has been talking about.

Just got back from BN, placed a ship to home order while I was there.

Got 2 copies of Band Of Brothers for $47.58, using the 15%off coupon. $23.79 each!
Finally I get the deal I've been waiting for on this set. And I'm giving the extra set to Mom for her birthday next month.

So, what do the folks who were doubting my decision not to buy this set on xmas eve for $34 at best buy, have to say now! Huh?

Might have to pick something else up before it's over too.

I went to the local store and picked up
MI-5 season 3 .........priced $71
&
MI-5 season 4 ............Free

This was a great deal since the MI-5 sets are not frequently discounted.

I just scored some serious bargains. I bought 4 box sets, all ready for the lowest two to be the freebies (since they were below $30). I got Frasier S2 and S3, Scrubs S2, and Surface. But he rang up the two Frasiers (30.58 each before any discounts) then the other two (27.98 and 26.98), and still let me get B1G1F on the cheap sets! So I paid $22.60 TOTAL for Scrubs and Surface. I immediately said, "Um, I have decided to get Scrubs S3 and S4 as well" so I got those for $22.60 TOTAL too!!! Huge YMMV on this. The employee just didn't enforce the 29.99 minimum rule...

Not too shabby.

Logged in via the AAA link (I am a member, btw)
Used the 15% off code K4G3A3U at checkout
Got these two titles...

Muppet Show (S1) 39.98
Superman (S2) FREE
AAA Discount -2.00
15% Discount -6.00
Sales Tax 1.92
Shipping 0.00
Subtotal 33.90

Giftcard balance -10.00
Net Balance 23.90

The $10 GC was from Mypoints, so I'm happy to claim that as a discount instead of a price that I just paid through some other means. $24 for two sets... not too shabby.

I suspect someone will point out that I could've saved 10% more had I driven across town and walked into a B&N store... oh well.

So is the automatic 10% off from MSRP, the store price or the web price if you do the ship to home option?

If you do ship-to-home, you get whatever the price is online. That can be anywhere from 0-30% off MSRP, it all depends on the item (most are 10%).

FYI, they fluctuate like the stock market. Surface was 10% off for ONE day, and the Cheers sets were 10% off yesterday, but aren't anymore. I have also seen items go from 20% off to 15% to 10% and back to 15% off in the same week... So if you see something go to 30% off, I'd jump on it right away cuz it may not last... Also, the after holiday sale has some good deals, up to 35% off. I've bought several of those but I don't know when the deal ends...

I'm sorry to say this is not automatic. I bought some titles in store the other day, and did not get the 10% off. I asked why not, and was informed that deal ended, but anything stickered 10% off they would manually override... But to answer your question, it was off the MSRP. The only additional discounts on ship to home are the 15% coupon and 10% member...

I'd love to get BSG 2.0 and 2.5, but they aren't included in this deal online. My only local B&N doesn't carry any DVDs and when I called they didn't know about this promotion. Am I out of luck?

Call another store.
You can even call a store in another state.

Stores in Massachusetts and New Hampshire didn't have the DVDs I wanted in stock in their warehouses, so I called a store in Wisconsin and placed the order over the phone. The Woman was really nice and said my order should arrive in the next couple of days.

Awesome, thanks for the tip. I called around and found a B&N that carried DVDs and got the deal.

I was told awhile back, sale or no sale, that the 10% is automatic for all box sets that have atleast 3 disks IIRC. So you would not get that if you had 2-disk set. There may also have been a price minimum, but I do not think so.

Additionally, I was told that this is pre-programmed (I thought) and the box set does not have to have a 10% sticker on it to get the auto discount. The person I talked to even said that if it did not they would manually add it.

I have NEVER NOT gotten the auto 10% for box sets with 3-disks or more.
