Blockbuster and Hollywood Used DVD Sales

I searched and saw a few posts from maybe a month ago about 3 for $25, buuuut...

I was at Blockbuster last night and noticed they had a 4 for $20 sale (YMMV I'm guessing). They've had it a few times before now, and it's a sweet deal since that averages $5 a movie.

I ALSO noticed there were some $3.99 DVD's; I picked up Memoirs of a Geisha, Good Night and Good Luck, and Capote.

I also noticed my Hollywood Video had their $9.99 movies at $5 a piece, so it's a little easier since you don't HAVE to buy a certain amount. But I couldn't find anything that I had any interest in.

I picked up Kiss Kiss Bang Bang for $5 at HV.

I'd pick up Memoirs of a Geisha, Good Night and Good Luck, Capote for $3.99

Good Night and Good Luck
Capote
ZathurA
AND MORE

That's the single take Hermitage film? What's that gem doing there.

get someone at blockbuster to ring up the 12.99s or mores at 2.99

when a prp is scanned the csr can scan any price they want.

AFAIK, that's completely incorrect, and I worked there for about 3 years. What they CAN do is do a credit, but since the end of late fees thing, the power to do random credits was taken to about 0. Plus it's pretty obvious when something like that happens, and I'm pretty sure it's reported in printouts of credits and such; a credit that big is asking for trouble. So I guess if you want to get the employee fired, well I don't think they can do it anyway unless they are a manager and in that case, they should be fired to do something that dumb.

Which Razor's Edge?

The new one or old one?

Went to 3 different BB and none of them had these dvds for this price so I guess, YMMV...

Picked up Memoirs of a Geisha, Good Night and Good Luck, Capote, History of Violence, Elizabethtown all for $3.99 ea.

TexasDVDer 12-11-06 02:38 PM

My closest Hollywood Video had a buy 2, get 2 on their $14.99 PVDs. Comes to about $7.50 each. Not bad if you don't want to wait for the PVDs to drop to $9.99 and then be eligible for the $5 deal.

TimeandTide 12-11-06 03:08 PM

Picked up Emily Rose for $5 at HV. Some decent titles in the mix if you've got the time to flip through the hundreds of Elizabethtowns and Red Eyes. Saw and passed on New York Doll, Nobody Knows (would have bought, but the case was thrashed), and Murderball.
