Insanely Cheap HBO Drama Sets At Costco

Yes, we knew that they would be on sale this week, but some of these sets are REALLY cheap and worth picking up now while you can. There's an instant $20 rebate with every set, no limit

The Sopranos and Six Feet under are $29.99 each for seasons 1-5 after instant rebate (actually 6FU S1 is $22.99). Carnivale S1 is also $29.99. It seems they have two pricing tiers as Deadwood, Rome and Carnivale S2 are $44.99 A/R.

Oh, and the utterly brilliant Band Of Brothers is $29.99 also.

Time to stock up! Rebate good through Sunday 12/10

Yes, but they're all at the usual $64.99 price - $20 rebate. I was shocked to see them tagged $49.99 in-store.

this rebate works instantly right? I mean the rebate is an immediate deduction from the price right and you don't have to send any forms later on to get it right?

It takes it off right at the register. Some states will charge sales tax on the pre-discounted price though. Fortunately for me, CT charges tax on the lower, post rebate total.

was going to buy Rome first season, but the shipping cost of a little over 6 dollars makes it more expensive at buy.com so I will forego this one

Didn't see it this time at my Costco, but have seen it with the other HBO drama series in the past.

bought sopranos seasons 1-5 for $146 total, including tax. i guess this would be my biggest blind buy since i have never had hbo or seen this show. i've heard howard stern talk about it for years though.

s1-3 were 42.99 and s4-5 were 49.99 btw.

As I posted originally, Deadwood is about $45 after instant rebate. It's not as good a deal as Sopranos or Six Feet Under, but still not too bad.

Rubix,

I bought Sopranos S1 when they had it on sale at BB a while ago.
I applied a $20 gift card to the item.
I plan on purchasing the rest of the seasons a little at a time.

I bought Six Feet Under Seasons 1,2,3. I opened my sets and I found that there's some lint on the surface of the DVD and on the surface of the digipak slots they're placed in.

Does anyone else have this problem on their SFU sets?

Have you had this kind of lint problem on other brand-new DVD sets? It's really pissing me off. I'm thinking about returning them for a refund.

The Wire Season 3 was available at a Sacramento Costco for about $43 after the 20 instant rebate. Didn't see any other seasons there though.

so is this REALLY over on the 10th? I was at Costco Saturday and was going to look at the DVDs while my sister was at the checkout, but I ended up having to run to the back of the store to get BREAD. I missed it!!!!
