Please let me know when your monkey arrives.

My monkey has already stated that he's feeling somewhat cooped up in my apartment and that he wishes to congregate with more of his kind with the intent and purpose of playing monkey games.

Basically, my monkey wants to meet YOUR monkey.

I just checked my order status again and things aren't looking so good now. The On the way to you! Estimated Delivery 10/31/2006 wording has been deleted, and there is a picture of a box with a line through it. No email stating it's been cancelled, but I'm not holding out much hope

Me too. Another missed opportunity for this set (I also ordered the $5 or so version from DDD a while back and that got canceled also).

I remember months ago I got an email from amazon saying they were going to start a new way of selling things where you would send what you had to amazon and when there was a buyer, they would send it to them.

I wonder what ever happened to that idea.

That would be physically imposible, considering the quantity of sellers on the Amazon Marketplace. There is no storage room big enough to carry all the items of all the sellers.

They did email about this saying it was in beta stage with select sellers. It would be stored at amazons wherehouse. It didnt sound good to me because amazon said they would charge per square foot for storage until it sold. And to ship the goods. The only positive was they handled customer service and returns.

I believe they do this now for a few select sellers. Sometimes when you click on "buy it used" you can scroll down and some sellers have "Fulfilled by Amazon.com" next to the item.

This is only for mega-sellers like Caiman. Carrying inventory is $$$, and the ultimate business model is just providing the conduit for member-member transactions, a la eBay, half.com, Amazon sellers, etc.

Ah, oh well. I only said that since I saw that you posted in this thread earlier then put yours up for sale. Not to bash you or anything of course, just to give other people here hope that they might receive their monkey man.

I do know that some people actually got it in the DDD price mistake.

Reason I asked is that I got mine.

I didn't put the order in thru Amazon directly, but thru Caimans' web site which uses Amazons' checkout cart. I really didn't expect it to work since the thread was already labeled "DEAD".

Since I didn't get in on the DDD mistake, I'm lucky I guess to get in on this one?
