I'm not sure if it's the same for your store, but I've been looking at the same spot at my store and have seen the same dvds over and over again. One day I decided to get some salsa. This made me browse other aisles and to my surprise I found all the new dvds that everyone's been talking about: Gattaca Superbit, Labyrinth CE (only found one), Thumbsucker, etc. So, for those who usually just check the same spot, you might want to check elsewhere.

Another local store got a shipment in, and this time I picked up:

Brother (anyone have any opinions of this? I don't really know anything about it, and I see that it's the edited version...)
Junebug (yay!)
One Day In September (this version - anyone know the difference between it, and the newer version, here?
Thumbsucker

Just a repackaging to tie in with Munich's theatrical release. Contents seem identical.

Thanks for looking. I went to a couple more BL today and found 5 Labyrinth CE. There was also 5 Dark Crystals CE there.

Just came from a local BL that had a bunch of HBO stuff. Nothing mind-blowing, but I did get "Angels in America", "Mind of the Married Man", and two Gus Van Sant films, "Elephant" and "Last Days" for $3 each. They also had "Empire Falls", and lots of other things, including a Bill Maher comedy DVD.

I've wandered the store and checked other aisles fairly regularly. This particular store just really sucks.

Did they have extras of Angels in America? I'll buy it or trade you for it.

It was the St. Ann store, on St. Charles Rock Road in the St. Louis area. (Near the airport.) Pretty sure I got the only "Angels in America" at that store.

I also saw several copies of "One Day In September" (1999 documentary about the Munich Olympics disaster), so I picked one up. No extras to speak of, but the movie and technical presentation are both excellent.

Great film!

I haven't hit any stores in about a week, so I'll have to see if the new displays have shown up.

Saw a new display today, with many of the newer sony titles like Art School Confidential, Auto Focus, etc.
Also tons of the HBO titles. They must've had about 50 different titles, only seemed to be 1 of each though.

Stuff I remember because I have already:
American Splendor
The Hitcher
Hysterical Blindness
GVS Elephant
GVS Last Days
Dawg
The Night Flier
Empire Falls

Other stuff I vaguely recall:
Dennis Miller standup i think
David Spade standup i think
Cracker (Season 1)

didn't see any superbits or the titles I'm still looking for/haven't spotted yet:
Labyrinth
Spaceballs
Failsafe
Thumbsucker
Castle Keep (WS)
Sheena (WS/FS)
SK's The Shining (TV)

I'm also back on the hunt for:
Wolf's Rain Vol.3
Fantastic Children Vol.3
as a package was lost in the mail and a trade never materialized

My BL had a pretty good selection of titles, there were probably 10 boxes full of movies. I picked up:
Groundhog Day (SE)
Labyrinth (CE)
The Best of the Steve Harvey Show
Little Women (CE)
Meltdown
Private Resort
Are We There Yet
Frankenstein (Robert Deniro)

I have an extra Labyrinth (CE) for trade for Spaceballs 2-Disc. I've been up and down all over my BL's trying to find one and I can't!

Had the dream come true a while ago at a local Big Lots. Standing there looking through their dvd display, and hear a voice behind me say "You'll probably find a lot better DVDs in here." When I turn around, there's an employee with a huge display on a pallet that he's wheeling into place.

Alas, nothing of interest to me with many of the same titles mentioned previously. Several copies of the Dark Crystal CE, Superbit Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon and Gattica, among others.

I did pick up Empire Falls, Jerry Seinfeld: I'm Telling You For the Last Time and a couple of Ellen stand-up comedy DVDs. It seemed that there were a lot of Stand Up Comedy specials and HBO titles, including a few multi-disc series that I wasn't familiar with enough to buy.

Went to 4 stores today, 1 posted above earlier in the am.

The other 3 stores only had the new Sony stuff, no HBO. I did manage to find Labyrinth and Thumbsucker, the Little Women set and 5 Superbits (The One, Gattaca, Crouching Tiger...,XXX,Johnny Mnemonic). Didn't find Dark Crystal but I already have the new 2 disc anyway. The assortments were arranged pretty much exactly the same at two of the stores, it was like deja vu 20 minutes apart!

Also picked up:
Agnes Of God (anamorphic though not labeled correctly)
Mary Shelley's Frankenstein (anamorphic though not labeled correctly)
Riding In Cars With Boys
Suburban Madness
Sketches Of Frank Gehry
Wah-wah
Private Resort
Off The Map
Pretty Persuasion
Surrender, Dorothy
Foxfire
The Dying Gaul
Dream For An Insomniac

also grabbed the only extra Labyrinth I found if someone's in need.

I just got Sweet and Lowdown a couple of days ago from a newly set out display and mine is the WS/FS flipper. Maybe different Big Lots have different versions?

^Crap! I didn't check all the copies I saw. I only saw that a few were FS and didn't bother to check the rest. Meanwhile though I was already looking for the flipper of Sheena and WS version of Castle Keep. will have to check back again next week, thanks for the heads up.

I only found the one copy of How To Make A Monster and I've gone to MANY Big Lots lately, so I'm not sure if it's readily available - Good Luck, I hope you get it.

I've seen most of what everyone else has mentioned (Except for the HBO titles and Labyrinth and Dark Crystal CE - where are they?). Here's a couple I don't think I've seen mentioned in the recent posts:

Daddy Day Care - Special Ed. WS/FS
Little Nikita - WS/FS
My Big Fat Greek Life - Complete Series
The Fog (1979) - Special Ed. WS
The Cave - WS

@basaro
I saw a copy of Sheena at one of my local Big Lots. If its still there I will trade you for Elephant or thumbsucker. I cannot gurantee its still there though.
