- Production IG animator Koushi Kishida's self-produced Jin-Roh digital anime short film, Images of the Last Battalion, is now available for online viewing. The short film based on Mamoru Oshii's Jin-Roh franchise won the Digital Frontier Grand Prix Best VFX Award last year, and is now being used to promote Oshii's new "Kerberos: Koutetsu no Ryoken" radio drama....Reportedly Oshii has announced plans to film a new live-action Jin-Roh movie for release in 2009.

- First teaser trailer for director Satoshi Kon's upcoming anime film Paprika.

- Production I.G's clappa! website is now hosting the Ghost in the Shell: S.A.C.: Solid State Society Trailer.

- A 6-minute trailer for the upcoming Freedom Project, one of several upcoming anime that Katsuhiro Otomo is involved in, has been posted on the official Freedom Project website (Japanese) in 300 kbs, 500 kbs, and 1 mbs streaming Windows Media formats.

- First of Four Evangelion Movies due out Summer 2007. According to the October issue of Newtype (Japan) (On sale September 10), four new Evangelion movies are in the works. The four movies will include a prequel, a mid-series movie, a sequel and a "final" movie. The prequel movie is due out early summer 2007.

While the new story will be set during the same time frame as the original TV series, Newtype states that it will be an entirely new project, not be a remake or improvement of any sort. Newtype also mentions that viewers will not need to have already seen previous Evangelion material in order to understand and enjoy the new movies.

Hideaki Anno will write the scenario for the first movie and will be the general director and manager for the entire project. Kazuya Tsurumaki will direct the movies while Yoshiyuki Sadamoto will provide character designs and Ikuto Yamashita will provide mechanical designs. Shinji Higuchi will provide storyboards for the first movie.
