Thanks for the great tip! Was finally able to locate copies at the 3rd Big Lots I tried. Also found the Turner Classic Movies version of Scene-It (discontinued full game version) for $19.99.

Still no go this week for me, but I did find a copy of "That's Entertainment" for $4.99, so that was a pretty good find.

Jimdrix -

Any more at the Bloomington store when you were there? I'm in Morton, and wanna know if its worth the drive. Thanks!

kenbenobi 09-24-06 09:11 PM

I finally found one of them (1948 Show). Also saw a 4-disc Providence collection for $3.99. I passed on it, but it's a good deal...

No luck at the Tri-County location in Cincinnati, either.

flagstone 09-25-06 10:39 AM

Checked three around north Austin - only found one copy of "Do Not Adjust", but I also picked up "Spiritual Kung Fu" for a dollar (me = sucker for old Jackie Chan movies). Might go back to pick up Cowboy Bebop 6 later.

printerati 09-28-06 03:46 PM

Sigh...no luck at the Colerain Avenue (Northgate Mall area) location in Cincinnati, although they did have A Very Long Engagement for $4.99.

eldad9 09-29-06 12:11 AM

My big lots had a grand total of zero (0) DVDs, but about two hundred xmas music CDs for $3.99 apiece.

I really wish I could find these... it would be great if anybody could find me one of each, or sell after they're done watching them, but I'm not holding my breath.

Racer94 09-29-06 04:05 AM

I have a couple of extra sets i picked up if someone is interested let me know.

Finally got a chance to stop at my local Big Lots, and they still had 2 or 3 of each of these. I grabbed one of each for myself, but I can go back for more if anyone is still searching...

Tomboymama 10-09-06 02:21 PM

Thanks Racer94, I received the pre-Python DVDs in great condition. It was really nice of you to go out of your way to find and send these to me. Living in a small town can certainly be disadvantageous when it comes to finding DVD deals. You made my day! :-)

starman9000 10-09-06 02:28 PM

I would love 1 of each. If anyone can help me out that would be great. Email me through my name.

eldad9 10-09-06 03:00 PM

Thanks Racer94 seconded.

I checked my local Big Lots in Northampton (MA), but of course there were none. Might check back this weekend since some people report that they are restocked randomly at random times. Anybody find these anywhere in New England?
If anyone have or could get extras of both and are willing to sell please email or PM me. Thanks in advance.

kdavis 10-09-06 07:31 PM

I 'd never been in a Big Lots store before, but I saw one in Brunswick, Maine this weekend and remembered this thread, so I stopped in and found a single copy of each set left on the shelf. Thanks to the OP for the heads up!

adamcampb 10-09-06 10:03 PM

Northampton

I found both in the Northampton, MA, Big Lots about three weeks ago. They only had a couple of each, so it's not surprising they're gone. They told me a long time ago they restock the store on Wednesdays, so might be worth a look every so often.

Thanks also Racer94. I also received the pre-Python DVDs very fast and in great condition. It was really unexpected and nice of you to go out of your way to find these for others and send them out. Thanks!

Quatermass 10-23-06 12:32 PM

Midwest City, OK Big Lots had one copy of the 1948 show last night (10/22) at 8 PM. I would have bought it for someone, but I'm going out of town in a few days (and frankly I'm just too lazy.)

sotra 10-23-06 07:54 PM

Could anyone get a set for me?

Russ Rubman 10-24-06 01:43 PM

Well, I've tried making these requests before but nobody has ever risen to the occasion so here goes nuthin!

I need a pair of these as well. My local Big Lots thinks Monty Python is a type of snake and they claim not to carry any "live animals". I honestly tried to explain to their CSR that it was a DVD and not a snake. Even if I WERE looking for an actual Python that it would be properly identified as a Suborder of Squamata, which is one of the four Orders of reptiles. While all snakes are superficially similar in body shape, they differ markedly in anatomy. In total there are roughly 2,500 species of snakes around the world. Snakes as a group are unusual in that every single species is carnivorous. They range in size from only 10 cm in length to over 10 m!

He seemed to lock up on that comment and fell over on his side with a thin blue line of smoke issuing from his right ear.

Will someone please help me to get this pair of DVD's? Please...........

It's not quite the deal that Big Lots has, but Oldies.com is offering each set for $5.95 (or as low as $5 if purchased with other budget priced DVDs). See:

http://www.oldies.com/product-view/3856GD.html

and

http://www.oldies.com/product-view/3855GD.html

Considering that these sets are going for $26.99 each at Amazon, this is still a good deal, though not as good as at Big Lots (if you can find them).

Racer94 10-24-06 04:23 PM

I have one set left that I was going to keep but if someone wants them I will sell for 14.00 shipped. This is the last set I could find in my area(5 big lots). 1st person to email me gets them. paypal prefered. I will email back confirmation before u send money.
Thanks,
Tim R.

Thanks! I'll probably go for this. $15.85 for both of them shipped. Not too shabby.

moklerman 10-25-06 02:44 AM

I'm gettin' in late on this conversation, but I've been holding out, hoping one of the three Big Lots here in Bakersfield, CA would get these. No luck and I want to ask before it's completely too late if someone can help me out with 1 of each title at the $2.99 price. You can e-mail me at: [email protected]. Thanks in advance.
