Battlestar Galactica 2.5 price at Costco

I was in Costco this morning. They said they will have the set and it will be $30 and some change.

I don't know what the reason was for splitting the season up into two packages. But when you add it up, $60+ for one season seems to be a bit much.

While I do agree with you, this show is so damn good I can't help but get it...

They split up the release because the season itself was split up. Season 3 will not be split.

However, look at other cable channel shows on dvd and I doubt your argument will hold up. Shows like The Shield and Nip/Tuck are around $30-45 for each 12 episode season when they first come out. Premium channel shows are even more expensive. That's just how it is.

Whether that is "just how it is" or not, doesn't make it any more palatable. Yeah, they can charge whatever they want, and I can choose to not buy it until the price comes down. And yeah, I look at shows like Deadwood that charge $70 per season (also for only 12 eps?) and I think that is outrageous and I would never pay that much. Which actually reinforces my point. Although Battlestar Galactica split the season into two boxes for whatever reason, the net cost for purchasing "Season 2" is $60 - $70 and that is not a "bargain" for me.
