I could of sworn CDuniverse charged outrageous shipping, like $5.99 per item or something.

And my third Geneon order finally shipped complete today. All right! I have yet to see 25 DVDs in a box; should be epic.

Yeah, they charge by the disc.. so none of the shipping prices for multi-disc items are correct on WTK's list.

Just wanted to point out that $10 off $30 Google checkout coupon applies to ANY website that uses Google checkout (or at least that initial list that we had in June?).

I checked out DVDempire and it uses it as well.

I've had 1 10-DVD order and 1 25-DVD order ship so far. I have one more 25 DVD order to go, and at last check, I'm waiting on 5 titles. Of course, those are the same 5 titles I've been waiting on since Tuesday.

Now it's time to fill in some titles (Eureka 7, maybe something else if I find it). Visa's loving me right now (well, not really, since I pay it off monthly. But they are getting a bunch of fees.)

If I remember correctly bestprices.com let you apply the coupon when shipping+total was over $20 (in this case $30) last time. I'm going to see if it applies here.

Seems like they fixed it. Oh well. =P I'll look over DVDempire and bestprices when I get home from work. I'm sure I'll find something good. =E

Another possibility for the Google Checkout coupon -- Final Fantasy Unlimited is $31.78 at buy.com before coupon, making it $21.78 after coupon. One of the few things I could find that wasn't less to either get used from wherehouse.com w/ the 30% off coupon or would wind up less at DDD when the next 20% off sale comes.

After this story about RACS's customer service, I think anime cheapskate describes how they run their business.

I've heard terrible things about Final Fantasy Unlimited, just FWIW.

DVD Talk give all volumes a "Rent It" rating, and AOD's review of the thinpack gives it a "C" - Just throwing that out there.

I've watched all of it -- it's not the greatest, but it's not horrible either.

Honestly, the only gripe that I had with it is that it actually felt somewhat true to the feel of a Final Fantasy game. Mind you, watching something that feels like you're watching a play-through of a game does make for a somewhat mediocre anime.

And of course there's also the other little issue that it was originally supposed to be 52 episodes, but got canned at 25 because of how poorly it was doing in Japan. That did lead to a somewhat muddled and very obviously rushed ending.

Ok, so it's probably not the best thing you could buy for $22, but if for those were intending on buying it at some point anyway, it's the best deal that I've seen so far.

BB Kiosk Update

I checked the kiosk today at Best Buy for updated pricing. Alas, there is no change on any of the ADV thinpaks mentioned in the tables.

I read that. I've never had a problem with them personally, but then again I don't order from them much. Not all that much there (that I'm interested in anyway) that can't be had for less at a TRSI sale or on Amazon. For this particular sale and for the particular problem the OP had, I don't disagree with RACS response. You're buying clearance items with a no return policy. It's not like an ADV sale where they intentionally destroy your cases...

If your order says 2/3/4, I'd email customer service ASAP. They may have your copy laying around their warehouse somewhere (since it's sold out online). They're absolutely swamped with the Geneon sale, I'm sure a few mistakes are bound to happen (and CS is generally very good at TRSI).

Yeah, just give them a call or shoot them an e-mail. I'm sure they'd be more than happy to fix the mistake. I don't think it's a reason to hate them even if it is annoying... Their customer service is terrific, and every issue I've had with them, they've quickly cleared up. This sale is ridiculous - I'm sure they're utterly swamped at the moment.

Regarding FFU - Yeah, you're probably right about it being the best deal on the series, at least at the moment, so for those who want to check it out and have been waiting - this is a good opportunity, however; I just feel that there's probably something better out there that people could be spending their money on.

Edit: Bah, I'm guilty of buying some pretty mediocre series myself.

I think you have that backwards - when there is a "no returns" policy they had better damn well not be selling defective merchandise. It doesn't matter if the price is just a single penny, and it doesn't matter if the defacement was intentional or not, if it is not disclosed as being defaced product ahead of time, and they won't take it back, then they are acting fraudulently.

Another table update:

The Gundam Wing Complete Operations box is no longer available at the Best Buy. Talk about a rude awakening - the one thing I wanted to order today and it has "SOLD OUT" instead of a buy button >
