Simpson Season 8 Set for $20.99 at Costco

Just like last time a new season came out, Costco is offering a $10 instant rebate, supposedly when you buy this season and a previous. But just like last year, the $10 comes off if you buy the new season alone. Great deal if you want S8 now, otherwise I suppose it'll be $19.99 on sale eventually like all the previous ones are.

Thanks for the heads-up! I'm going to Costco later today on other business, so this will make the trip even sweeter.

Thanks for this. I think I'll head over there tomorrow. Is it a sure bet that it works on its own?

Same here. I don't know why I care, but since I've already picked up the other head packages, I feel like I should have the Maggie edition.

I just went to the Costco in Chandler, AZ (near the 101/202 interchange). They had the regular/good packaging there. Went to the register and the $10 came off like the OP promised. Total was $19.82+tax.

My Costco had S1-S6 for $14.99 after the $10 instant rebate. This deal lasts until 8/21

Woohoo! Picked mine up for $22.21, with tax. They charged tax on the full amount, before the $10 savings, but I'm not complaining! Didn't notice if they had the Maggie packaging, since I was after the standard one anyway. Thanks, OP!

Where's the instant rebate coupon? They didn't have it when I entered, nor when I left. They had other rebates, but not this one. Or does it ring up automatically with the discount?

It comes off automatically at the register.

Has anyone else confirmed S1 - S6 as being $14.99 each? How about S7? I'll try again tomorrow and report back.

Be careful on this one, as I got doubly screwed. I bought two copies of Season 8, and both rang up at the full $30. When I bitched, the clerk saw that it said $10 instant rebate when you buy this and either Season 7 0r 8. After much discussion, I got a $10 rebate on the pair, not on each, paying $50 for the two seasons, when apparently I should have paid only $40. Think I should revisit the friendly Costcoers and try to get another ten bucks back?

That's weird. I thought that the register just automatically took the $10 off when scanned. I guess that your Costco's computers weren't programmed to take the $10 off of the single set. It would seem that this is a YMMV deal.

They didn't have Maggie's head but did have the Collector's Editon which I don't wait.
So I went to Best Buy for the head.

Sorry, Escapist. For me (and others) it just rang up at $20.99 with a $10 instant rebate. As I stated, the collection does say that it requires an additional purchase. Perhaps Costco fixed it, or maybe it's a YMMV.
Hopefully somebody will post tomorrow if the deal is still alive.

My store only had the box, but personally I hate those heads and can't figure why they would be in high demand. If that's important to you, I guess buy it elsewhere.

edit : After reading the fine print of the sticker, it's very curious On Season 8 box, it says "SAVE $10 INSTANTLY! When you buy this DVD and either The Simpsons season 7 or 8" Since this IS season 8, it's very confusing....
Anyways, hopefully it still works for most folks as a single purchase.

I can confirm that S1 - S6 are $14.99 each (after the $10 off at the register). The sticker on these sets says: "Save $10 Instantly! When you buy this DVD and either The Simpsons Season 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 or 6". I picked up S3 - S6.

I think that S7 and S8 were $30.99 (before the $10 off when you buy S7 with S8).

Thanks for the heads up OP!

I'll have to try this during lunch.

Does the $10 come off before they total it? In case I want to just have them scan it for a price check first.

Hey Guys pardon my ignorance, but is Costco a "members-only" deal? Or can I just walk in?

Membership required. So, you need to at least go with someone who is a member.

Otherwise, Simpsons season 8 would cost you about $71 (including 1-year membership).

They can't really scan it before hand -- it comes off at the register. Just take it to the register and have them ring it up. The $10 will come off then and if not you can say "Oh, well if I don't get the $10 instant rebate, then I don't want it" and just leave.
