It looks like the Cardcaptor Sakura DVD Mega Bundle is SOLD OUT now! I didn't think they would have been able to sell out 250+ units in less than 12 hours!

EDIT: IT LOOKS LIKE THEY HAVE MORE IN-STOCK NOW (35 OF THEM)!

As of 3:30 AM PST, they had 75 in stock, so either they found some more or some people backed out on their orders.

Well, I've noticed Rightstuf's shopping cart automatically empties itself if you don't check out relatively quickly (10 mins maybe?), and when you come back to look; your shopping cart is empty, but it also lowers the stock of the thing you were buying by one. I found this out the hard way when buying volumes with only 2-3 left in stock.

I have found a way to prevent that though. Just keep moving it to your wish-list and back to your cart every few minutes. I was doing this in class one time last year. =X

Anyway, that price for Sakura is great. Too bad I really don't have $80 at the moment. Is this series not dubbed?
**Answered my own question. It's sub only. It took three years to release the whole series when it was only subtitled? That's odd.

I'm going to head over to Best Buy later today and check out their ADV selection. It would seem that BB is slashing the prices on a number of ADV titles. A poster over at AOD said that his BB had Aquarian Age-Thinpak for just $11.99. Hopefully my BB will have this set along with the already mentioned Nuku Nuku TV thinpak. I'll take pen and pad with me and report my findings later today.

I think so too. The price is awesome. But with school starting in two weeks, I have to save money for text books.

There is a dubbed version, but its not too great because its horrible and it seem heavily edited

After you watch the first disc there is a preview for the dubbed version. When you see the trailer it will make you gag. (not that the dub is bad, but the re-edit of the show horrible)

It's too bad my local stores don't hand out these coupons out! My guess those coupons are probably just a regional promotion if the cashiers needed to do a price override!

Wow, what a score! If you don't already have it, you must go back and get the Kaleido Star thinpak for $14.99. I'm quite pumped about the potential score when I go to BB tomorrow, but I'm also kinda bummed[I paid double to triple for a lot of these titles]. I'm hoping that I'll be able to get the Gantz thinpak, Angelic Layer thinpak and Happy Lesson thinpak on the cheap.

I have already purchased Kaleido Star thinpak a couple months ago for about $20. I know Happy Lesson thinpak is still the same price! Other ADV collections with the unchanged prices (that I know of): Azumanga Daioh, DNAngel, Eden's Bowy, Magical Shopping Arcade Abenobashi, Najica, Neo Ranga, Peacemaker, RahXephon, Sakura Wars (TV), Final Fantasy: Unlimited, Jing: King of Bandits, All Purpose Cultural Cat Girl: Nuku Nuku Dash!, Orphen Season #2, Steam Detectives, and Zone of the Enders. I did a wad load of price checks on their store computer via BestBuy.com! It seems like the recent ADV price changes applied generally to older collections & volumes.

If you really want to purchase Excel Saga, you could order it @ the store and have ship it to your house (depending on the on-hand counts on their delivery center). It would be $17.99 + S/H + tax.

Hello there

My local best buy here in Tucson AZ was unable to place an order like that in store like you suggested. Is this something they should normally do, and my best buy is full of it, or is that a normal practice of theirs? They said they couldn't do an order for dvds, but didn't get really specific on what they could do.

Anyhow.. if someone gets 2, id be more then willing to paypal over some cash for a set

Thanks

I personally would just walk to one of the computers (not the employee one - it will have a screensaver saying so) by the DVD section. Then I will click on the lower left corner (BestBuy.com). And the rest would be the same as you do at home (place items in cart, checkout, enter shipping/billing address info., and credit card info.). The last thing I would do is to print out the order. There are printers under each of these computer kiosks. I don't see why your local store won't let you do it! And also the employees don't really do your orders since you're placing the orders yourself on BestBuy.com, but with the store prices!

BB typically sells ADV singles for $19.99, so the coupon will come in quite handy for anyone that needs to fill in gaps of a series. It's also a good deal for some of their cheaper thinpaks. I plan on using it on Wedding Peach Season 1 for $16.99.
Did anything ever come of this coupon?! I'd really like to know!
Edit: Err...You said it expired July 31st, nevermind...I still wouldn't mind trying it out though. =X

Man I'd like to get Excel Saga, but they didn't have it months ago when it was $35, I doubt they'll have it now. =((

Nevertheless, I have to go check this out tomorrow. Having BB employees price scan things for me, and then seeing them awe at what comes up never gets old!

You should try WTK's method that he mentioned in post #40. If it works, you'll get it for $17.99 plus $1.79 shipping.

I'll try it out. So basically, they'll ship DVDs from their warehouse at the B&M price? Too cool. I wish I would of known this earlier.

Quick question on the BB Excel Saga set ordering process mentioned in post #40: Will this work even if it currently says online that it's $34.99?

Am I missing something? Can anyone explain this to me?

Best,

-B

The trick works because BBY's website "knows" when you are accessing it from within a BBY store.

USUALLY this works out in the reverse - you see a good price on their web site at home, drive in to the store and find it priced higher on the shelf. So you walk over to a PC in the store to double-check and, surprise, the website matches the price on the shelf. So, wondering if you are insane you either buy it anyway (like a sucker) or leave empty-handed. When you get home, you check the website and lo and behold, the low price is there.

It's BBY's way of fucking with your head (and cutting on the number of people who argue that it is cheaper on the website so the B&M ought to price-match the website since it is the same company).

However, in this case, it works in the reverse. They don't want to sell these to you at the clearance level pricing that exists in store, so the regular BBY website has a bunch of high prices. But if you access it from within the store, you ought to see the highly discounted ones and be able to order at the lower prices.

If it works, it is a really clever way to turn the tables on them.

It works! WTK is my new hero!

Picked up Excel Saga, Kaleido Star, and Yu Yu Hakusho Dark Tournament Box Set 2 for $62.42 shipped. Awesome. Also picked up DNAngel vol1 + box and vol 3 for $6.99 each at the B&M.

Did have one concern though. How does Best Buy handle backorders? My YYH was backordered, and was wondering if anybody has had any experience with Best Buy's policy. Will this eventually ship, or will the order be cancelled?

I had like six different employees walk by me while I was on the computer; nobody told me to get off or anything. Too cool. DEVIL CUSTOMERS UNITE!!
