Wal Mart opens in White Plains NY on July 19, 2006 . Those in the NYC area will be able to take advantage of the prices you have only read about.

Saw the Ali G Indahouse - The Movie at my local Walmart yesterday. Although I don't think it's gotten very good reviews, so I passed.

Was Mad Dog and Glory the Special Edition? I think last go-round, it was the original release.

Are you thinking of Glory with Denzel Washington? I didn't see either version of that in the group.

I don't think Mad Dog and Glory with Deniro has a SE.

Add the Adventures of Rocky and Bullwinkle. I picked that up along with the regular widescreen version of Josie.

I'm not too into stupid/sophmoric humor but I thought this was extremely funny. I definitely recommend it for $4.88.

Rumble Fish (original edition, of course)
The Burbs

I actually would be very interested in picking up Snow Falling on Cedars. It was a beautiful love story, that sadly was slept on by many. Anyone know what the picture quality is like on this title?

At this price I would definitely pick up one Ali G In Da House even though the movie wasn't as good as the show. It'd be nice if they did find more Fletch.

The only thing on that list I want is "The Burbs". I hope my Wal-Mart carries the sale.

Others I noticed:

For Love or Money
Housesitter
Midnight Run

Also, the Josie and the Pussycats was the PG, Fool Screen version.

Some of the releases had BOTH WS/FS showing up in there, incidentally (Ali G's flick, for instance)
If you see FS and want WS (or, god forbid, the reverse...) dig a bit.

As for Mad Dog Glory, no SE does exist, but it was re-released as anamorphic. So make sure (if it's important to you) to get the anamorphic one.

I ran across this display this morning before seeing this thread, so I tried to write down all of the titles on the top. Rather than cross-reference the above posts I'll just type them in again in no special order. Also note that there were a few non-Universal titles thrown in my display (I bought 1 of them for $4.88):

Two Mules for Sister Sara
Captain Corelli's Mandolin
Isn't She Great
Dudley Do-Right
The Story of Us
True Crime
Mad Dog and Glory
Mr. Baseball
Dad
Uncle Buck
To Wong Foo Julie Newmar Thanks for Everything
Lover Come Back
Pillow Talk
Send Me No Flowers
Death Becomes Her (P&S only)
Man on the Moon
For Love or Money
Dead Men Don't Wear Plaid
The Burbs
The Secret of My Success
Cloak & Dagger
The Adventures of Rocky & Bullwinkle
Housesitter
The Dream Team
Shenandoah
Twins
The War Wagon
Midnight Run
Legal Eagles
Spaceballs (old edition)
Starsky & Hutch
Charlie's Angels: Full Throttle
The Money Pit

The Guys
Snow Falling on Cedars
Ed (Matt Leblanc)
Nutty Professor II
Sea of Love
Basketball
Leave it to Beaver (newer movie)
Josie and the Pussycats
Cop and a Half
Slap Shot 2
The Cowboy Way
Borrowers
Rumble Fish
Barney's Great Adventure
Never Talk to Strangers
Road to Utopia
Road to Singapore
Elvis: His Best Friend Remembers
How to Be a Player
Hearts and Souls
Backbeat
Biloxi Blues
McHale's Navy (newer movie)
The Matchmaker
King Ralph
Ali G Indahouse - The Movie

If anyone wants to thank me for writing these down ;-), feel free to do that by recommending any good movies in the 2nd group. The first group are ones I've seen (most of which I already have) and the second are ones I haven't seen. With the exceptions of Captain Corelli's Mandolin and possibly Isn't She Great, The Story of Us, Dad and Dudley Do-Right, I highly recommend all the other movies in the first group (the ones I've seen). If anyone raves about any movies in the 2nd group, I might blind buy them at $4.88.

^ Thanks for the complete list

It's been a long while, but Hearts and Souls was good, if not a bit shamltzy.

If that "Never Talk to Strangers" is the one with Antonio Banderas, I actually saw that in the $5.50 dump bin, not the $4.88 display. I actually thought about getting it for that, but now I'll have to check out the other WM (it's only 62 cents, but still).

The movie is definitely very different from the show - I'm not a huge fan of the show, but love the movie, crazy as it is. The show always feels too close to a 'wink wink', where the movie, to me, seems to stay fully in character, and complete the character. (Love the cast as well, especially Ricky C, Martin Freeman from The Office (BBC))

For anyone who even occasionally likes sophomoric humor, I would highly recommend this movie at this price point.

Um, I live in NYC, and the Walmarts in New Jersey are closer to me than the one in White Plains.

Maybe you're referring to people outside of the city and/or the 5 boroughs of NY
