Question about next 45% criterion sale
Hi guys, sorry if this falls under the taboo question category, but I haven't seen anyone mention it.
Does anyone know if a 45% criterion sale is coming anytime soon? The last one I remember was the amazon 45% off the top 14 best selling criterions, and that was awhile ago. I know that the DDD 20% sale is twice a year, and was wondering if this sale is similar, or just completely random. I've also seen DDD and Dvdplanet run, but haven't come across one in awhile.
Thanks for any info, and sorry again if this is a taboo question.

DDD had a 45% off sale early in the year. Actually they might have had 2 such sales before the 20% off sale. I think it's kinda random so there's probably no way of knowing when the next one will pop up.

The only thing you can assume about any 45% sale is ...... if ANYONE knows about it, it gets posted here immediately. So there really is never a need to ask - just keep hanging around DVD Talk and the nanosecond anything happens, you will know.

Sometimes (albeit rarely) Borders in store will have Criterions for less then retail, couple that with a 30% off coupon. I bought Eyes Without A Face for 18.19 (25.99-30%) a couple months ago this way.
I don't know why some titles are 29.99 and some are 25.99 (or 39.99 and 35.99) in store. Of couse as far as I know, this only applies to the store in Portland.

Definately a more than adequate discount to keep me coming back for more. After my credit runs out, I'll probably still order 3 or 4 a month to try to keep on top of things.

But the prices are outrageous... so I personally just keep an eye out in the rental stores for criterions.

I paid $150 for several of my LaserDiscs back in the day (T2, JAWS, E.T., SCHINDLER'S LIST, etc.), so Criterion DVD prices are a long way from outrageous.
