Adv. of Superman S1 $14.98 at Wal-mart B&M

I went by Wal-mart after work today and they had set up an end aisle with a bunch of Superman DVD's. I noticed that season one of The Adventures of Superman was $14.98. Season 2 was still $29.00. This season sells for $30.24 at DDD. Go get!!

I passed on this during the DDD sale, but for that price, I'm there. Thanks, OP.

season one has some great commentary by MR.GROSSMAN and you be surprised at how violent this first season was compared to the others. a good pickup.

Most of the displays were empty, but I managed to snag one of the few remaining ones that didn't contain floaters. I wonder why the pricedrop of the first two seasons. Wasn't too long ago I was ready to pay double for each.

Seasons one & two are far superior to the final 52 episodes of "The Adventures of Superman". Although the production values of the entire run are modest (remember, this was produced for syndication...not network TV), the first two seasons have better writing and actors who are more human. By the time seasons three & four were shooting, the show was in color and more popular...especially with kids. Less emphasis was placed on the drama aspect, with bad guys becomming more comical and the show played more for laughs. Just look at how self-assured Lois' character (played by Phyllis Coates) is in season one versus Lois number two (Noel Neill) who is usually pretty helpless. Even editor Perry White morphs into a blowhard boss ("Great Caesar's Ghost!") from a tough newspaper exec.

BTW I bought the first two seasons at Circuit City for $16.98 each.

Spotted the Amazon deal last Tuesday for the first two seasons and ordered it. Then saw this post and briefly thought that I overpaid until I noticed the second season wasn't part of the Walmart sale. Whew! Got mine delivered on 6/23.
