Ummm, if it really looks like a tractor ran it over then I highly doubt it's just a typical defect for the DVD. I own the DVD, and mine looks just as good as you would expect.

If it's so bad that you can't deal with it, and if it's that bad then I'm guessing that you don't want to keep it, I'd let DDD know about it ASAP.

I called up DDD, and the CSR was very nice. I have to send the wrong item back, and then they're supposed to me the correct one.

I guess a mix-up is bound to happen sometimes. I guess I'm mostly merffed becasue of the $190 price difference between what I ordered and what I got. O'well, at least the rest of my order was perfect.

While I cant see why you wouldnt bee since the price is still 31.89....IF the price does change (before shipment) then you would be charged that price (I guess this is one of the downsides to not charged untill shipped)....THe same thing happens at Amazon for preorders ect...if the price changes either up or down before your item ships then you are charged the NEW price........I had 3 of my Stargate sets show up as "backordered" due to ship 6/23 (I beleive). The entire order shipped on time with no delay so they may be just giving you a worst case scenario (hopefully).....I was very suprised to see that everything in my order shipped when I had those Items backordered but in the end DDD came through

They should absolutely charge you the 20% off sale price on any backordered item. As long as you ordered it during the sale, you should be charged the sale price regardless of when it ships. This is a very common occurrence with backorders; same thing happened to me during the last sale, where I had one backordered title that shipped a few weeks later. I was billed correctly.

Bottom line: you should get the Alien set for $31.89.

That's not true about Amazon, either. You get charged the price that it was when you buy it... unless it goes down. Then you can have it adjusted. At least, that's the way it has been traditionally.

Darn I wish Paramount would drop the price of the complete Star Trek Voyager set ($600) to be the same as the The Next Generation and Deep Space 9 (both $314). I've seen dozens of the Next Generation full set sold during this sale and many of the DS9's, but I don't recall seeing a single copy of the Voyager set sold after reading through all of these posts...

Tractor may not have been the best choice but it definitely is close. My copy of "Empire Falls" has a two inch section along the spine on the back side that is ripped and wrinkled. The front, top, left-hand corner is mushed, rounded, and showing the cardboard under the cover. Bottom corner is not as bad but similar damage. The entire front cover looks squished down and the spine of the book-like case sticks up and looks stretched. It certainly has obvious damage and now that it looks like your copy came through without defect I will pursue a return with DDD.

Just wanted to recommend two movies I haven't seen in this thread: Red Violine and The Bug (2002). Two intricate and flawlessly executed gems, and at less than 8 bucks a piece - a no brainer IMHO.
