Count me amongst the folks who are reading every post of this thread---I've got the time to check 2-3 times a day, so I don't have THAT much catching up to do at once.

Thankfully, so far I've only found two additional titles that I failed to purchase with my first order. I'll order those along with the new releases that I want to get come Tuesday.

While reading the posts tonight, I realized that I've gotten pretty much every R1 release that I want, so from here on out, it's just keeping up with new releases. THAT is a nice feeling.

I had a different issue with a prior DDD order and after waiting 3 days, they didn't respond to my email, other than the automated computer response. Don't wait for email since there is maybe a chance DDD isn't sending this out until Monday and maybe they can catch it before UPS picks it up. Maybe?

Cost more though, about $30 with exchange rate but worth it for these great 60s spy movies.
I've been tempted to buy the region 2 version. I assume that SOME GIRLS DO isn't OAR. Is it pan & scan, and is it fairly watchable?

Good idea, I will try to call first thing on Monday.

Yeah they might of not gave it to UPS yet. Just got my shipped email tonight around 8 PM EST.

I'm just fustrated, Why UPS? WHY??! they've always shipped via USPS before.

On a side thought, any other CDN's who ordered get theirs shipped yet? And did you get a upgrade (well downgrade for us) to UPS?

I've read every single post, too....but I have to say, it's been a lot slower today than it was yesterday. I would walk away for 5 minutes and have 2 new pages of posts to read.

I too was upset at them for giving me a free upgrade to UPS last year. I ordered around $700 last year, but specifically didn't want UPS since they do not leave packages at the door where I am at if no one is home. So, I had to call UPS and arrange a different delivery date a couple of days later. Also, UPS doesn't deliver over the weekend, while USPS delivers on Saturdays. It ended up where I missed the first attempt of delivery by UPS on a Friday, so the soonest I could arrange a second attempt was the following Monday. Just really frustrating. Ended up to where I would have probably received my order about the same time had they just shipped USPS as I wanted, but without the pain.

If they wanted to give a free upgrade, I would want USPS Priority Mail, but I can understand that they go UPS since they likely have a better pricing deal for business. It's a nice thought by DDD to upgrade for large orders, but as we see, doesn't work for everyone.

Yeah, but I'd say price drops are much more frequent than titles that go out of print and don't have a new edition on the way.

You're right of course. I just have a hard time dealing with "why didn't you get it while you could." I need help.

Whoa.

Last time I checked, only the first series or two were available, so I ordered the first 4 series from amazon.co.uk. I'm really glad to see the U.S. releases have caught up, and happier to see the 5th series available for preorder - which is about as long as the first 4 put together IIRC, since it was made with U.S. television in mind.

I just hope it will also be available in the U.K. (which makes sense, but you never know) - if so, I'll have to decide whether I want to keep buying the region 2 discs (a hassle to find a DVD player that can play PAL discs with an NTSC output, and agree to let me play discs I own (which is illegal in the states)) or the region 1 discs (and have a mismatched set).

I love this sale. I think it was last year when someone recommended Dummy with Adrien Brody as a blind buy and became a "keeper" in my collection. It was this forum that turned me onto Cube as well. Hoping another title will make it this year.

I've been reading every post, too. What else do I have to do on a Satur...day........night.........dammit.

And whoever asked about the "static" HBO on the Band of Brothers set, yes, it is in the beginning of each episode. It's probably my favorite DVD set I own, and as a 27 yr old male, I still get teary-eyed watching the last episode Every Single Time. Best blind buy ever.

Band of Brothers is a staggering piece of work. Tremendously realistic looking (I haven't the faintest really since I didn't fight in WW II), very fine acting all the way around (the alumni of BoB have been popping up all over since it's airing, on TV and in film) and just superb general storytelling. But the kicker for me is that it's a character driven miniseries. Saving Private Ryan is still the high water mark for WW II film works IMHO, in great part due to Tom Hanks' portrayal of Capt. Miller, but BoB is a very very close second. And Damian Lewis's Capt. Winters is nearly as great an inhabitation of a character as Hanks' Miller.

I bought it as a gift for my brother during the last sale. If I remember properly it was just a box with 5 regular size DVD cases in it. It doesn't fold out or anything like that.

Another quick question: who's using credit cards for this sale?

I've only used a debit card in the past and think it's kept me from going overboard with purchases. I'd imagine the interest rates alone would've negated the savings over the course of time. Debt's no fun, either.

I did.

Only because it was already on file and didn't want to take the time to change it to my debit. Submit order or change billing info? The choice was obvious.

If you ordered that one already, you should call and cancel that one. It comes out on Tuesday, so you didn't get the discount. It is on my "Movies to order on the 13th" list, because I just loved it and can't wait to watch it again and again....
