I went to BuyriteDVD and they had one copy back in stock and I purchased it.

While that's a great price for the boxset (and the box is awesome), the alpha cased box is at a cheaper MSRP (89.99) and thus can be had for much cheaper (one of the first times I've seen Bestbuy.com at near the top of the dvdpricesearch list). Depends on whether you care about the packaging, since the disks are the same. You can get it for under 60, though I'm not sure what the DDD price is, since they STILL haven't added MB titles back to the site...

Based on Google's cached searches, these are the prices before the 20% off sale:
On 5/17/06: DDD had the Berserk: Alpha Case Box for $53.96
On 5/14/06: DDD had the Berserk: Premium Collection for $83.98
It remains to be seen that if the DDD will list the two titles back to the site!

Thanks for the tip. I already know about the alpha case and I really dislike it[I must have the box]. Plus, now that I've cleared the $50 free shipping barrier, I might just have to pick up a few other items.

I have actually purchased the Berserk: Alpha Case Box @ Best Buy for about $40 after 30% off coupon from a while back. But I would have to agree with you that the alpha case design is one of the worst ever. The dvd case manages to stuff 6 dvds (2 on each side and two on the middle flap). The most annoying thing about it is that the dvds overlap. But at $40 I couldn't really argue that much for an awsome series! And like Sweet Baby James said, Berserk is a must-own series for anime fans!

I agree, Berserk is one of the best series I've ever laid eyes upon. I got lucky a long time ago and got the Alpha box off ebay for around $30 brand new. And yeah, I hate how the discs are packaged in it but what can you do, especially for that price.
