I liked Ryvius. I don't remember it ever getting much attention, but it was a really good series.

Got my s-CRY-ed and Infinite Ryvius sets today. Both were sealed and in perfect condition. Buyrite really impressed me, first honoring that misprice then upgrading most everyone's shipping to DHL. I'll definitely order from them again.

I am, however, a bit disappointed in Animeigo. I ordered the KOR OVA/Movie boxset like 2 or 3 days before they said it was out of stock, and today, I received it.. no box, just the singles. A little irritating, but nothing to cry over.

I enjoyed Ryvius, but I thought it started to get a little too whiney after a while. I don't think it has a very high replay value, but that's just my opinion.

Same here, but at those prices, I can't complain either.

For those of you who missed out on the s-CRY-ed deal like I did, Cartoon Network is airing it on Adult Swim on weeknights at 1 AM, starting with episode 1 tonight.

I actually found a copy of Kaleido Star: Amazing Collection yesterday at my local Best Buy. I had a coupon and a leftover gift card to use, so I decided to test my luck. Before I found the title, I inquired about whether other stores around had it. Suprisingly an associate offered to ship the collection to my house for $26.99 + $1.50 shipping + tax from their DC (delivery/distribution center? - they had around 40 of them) since we couldn't find the only copy in the store. The other thing was that the DVD can only be shipped to the customer's address and not to the store. I would be able to get the store price, but still have to pay shipping fee. I didn't go with the order and decided to check over the anime section one more time and surprisingly I found it behind the bottom shelf with no price label on the box. I would say that someone might have hid the box and maybe forgot about it. I end paying for it around $18.

WTK, I love your postings and the schedules.

That sucks about the Geneon deal. i was thinking about maybe buying something, but really I ought not to with all I have spent lately so I guess it has its positives.

Found Speed Racer Volume 2 last night at Big Lots for $3.99. Great deal since they had a survey thing set up where if you took a short survey you got a $3 gift card (YMMV on the survey thing).

Oddly enough, I have never found an anime series to "suck". I'm very interested to see just how bad I think Divergence Eve is.

At worst, they are just "okay" to me. Might just be the ones I've watched, though.

Coincidentally (to this thread), the worst anime series I've ever watched happened to be S-Cry-Ed.

Yeah, me either. The only series I've hated was Jubei-chan, but only seeing vol 4, it's a little presumptious to pass judgement. Perhaps Arjuna as well just because of all the sappy environment crap. It'll have to be very, very bad to make me not like it.

Just got my s-cry-ed box about twenty minutes ago (yay for DHL again!). To anybody that's got it already, did you get the oddly shaped quadrilateral box with the keychain? The picture that was on buyrite was a yellow one. I'm not sure if there's any other version, just wondering. Not that I really care, other than the fact I have no way to fit this on my shelf. =E

I do like the guy who does the character designs, he's obviously done Gundam Seed/Infinite Ryvius as well. The last episode of s-cry-ed is enough for me to recommend the series.

The one pictured on the site when I purchased it was the weird-shaped box. It looks square in their thumbnail, but it's the same artwork as the one you received. That's the one I'm expecting, which is fine by me. Did it come in decent shape? I'm assuming so since you didn't mention anything...

Are there going to be an box sets of Gundam Seed? I really want to get this series but waiting out for a Seed collection... should I stop holding my breath?

- Wolf's Rain complete collection looks to be just that. 750 minutes for that price is really nice, imo.
... I'm so confused. It says Complete Collection II in the second .pdf file....the series was 26 episodes long wasn't it? Was it 30 episodes? It's been so long since I've watched it. But still, 750 minutes at 24 minutes an episode still doesn't equal out. O_o

*another edit*
Wolf's Rain CC I = 7 discs @ 750 minutes..... CC II = 3 discs at 300 minutes. This series was not that long.

It's kind of hard to tell. Bandai only recently came out with a cheap Gundam Wing collection, and that originally came out in 2000/2001 (there was a boxset released in 2002, but it was not a heavily discounted release). They also only recently came out with a boxset for 0080 and 0083. Both G Gundam and the original, dub-only Mobile Suit Gundam series were never repackaged (though they are available cheap at numerous outlets) I'd assume we won't see an official budget release of Seed for a while... even though they're currently releasing Destiny, I'm sure they believe that the movie release was enough to catch people up to speed.

On the bright side, I know it's a 10 dvd release but we got five eps per dvd and I personally loved the show.

You're probably out of luck on the Gundam Seed box set, there probably won't a box set this year for Region 1 releases. However if you're really a Gundam Seed fan, Australia (Region 4) is releasing one on 8/16/06. Atlantic DVD (Region 4) has it for pre-order for a hefty AU$139.95 or US$102.63. And then there will probably be additional fee for international delievery.

As for Wolf's Rain, there are 30 episodes (4 of which were considered OVAs). However Bandai Entertainment got a little greedy and decided to split the series into two releases. I know the first release won't be 750 minutes and they will somehow divide the episodes accordingly.

G Gundam was recently released in 2 Anime Legends collections (the second is out today if I'm not mistaken).

That means that Wing and G were both released very close to each other. Maybe it won't be all that long until we see Seed...

If you check out the second Bandai link, you'll see that they made a correction regarding Wolf's Rain. As already mentioned, it will now be spread out on 2 sets. The list price for the first set in July has also been lowered from $49.99 to $39.99. BTW, WR is 30 episodes long-the standard 26 episodes plus 4 recap episodes that made up volume 4.

About to add those Bandai links to the second post, btw. Thanks, WTK!

Oh, and I received my Buy Rite order just now. I didn't select DHL, but that's how they shipped it! I won't complain. Everything was packaging nicely (minimally, but nothing was damaged as far as I can see... haven't opened everything to inspect just yet). Wow, I'm very pleased, though. Outlaw Star CC and s-CRY-ed CC + Banner of the Stars Vol. 2 (I had Vol. 1 & 3, figured it'd be nice to round out that collection) for just over $40 shipped, I believe. Can't really beat that.

Yeah, it came in good shape. The upper right hand corner of the back is a little bent, but you can barely notice it. I don't plan on selling it anyway, so no worries for me.

I had two floaters (one in s-Cry-ed and one in Outlaw Star), but they were both surprisingly free of scratches. The only kinda bummer about my order was I didn't realize two large slits going across my Outlaw Star box spine. It's not a huge deal and certainly not worth sending back. As long as the discs are okay, I can't complain too much. I was expecting something worse, so I'm pretty satisfied!
