I can confirm that West Wing S5 and OC S2 are now at 22.99. I tried the other sets in the sale, and they rang up at 44.99.

Thanks

Keep in mind that the actual sale starts this Sunday.

S2 of The O.C at 22.99 is too good to pass up. I've never seen it cheaper than 37.99, and it's usually higher than that.

ds6161 04-23-06 05:04 PM

anyone know what the Godsmack bonus track is??

MovieExchange 04-23-06 05:13 PM

Took the Target ad into CC today, pricematched Veronica Mars S1 and Nip/Tuck S2. 20.29 each after pricematch discount.

dvdjunkie32 04-24-06 02:12 PM

The flyer is a bit deceiving on the West Wing. It shows Season 4 and 5 as part of the sale. However, below, there is the blurb, "season 1, 2 and 3 also available". The wording sounds either like it could be part of the sale, or like "oh btw, we have these other dvds if you're interested"

I called Target to verify if the first 3 seasons are part of the sale. They told me that only S4 and S5 are on sale. Can anyone verify this?

I remember seeing this when I wrote up the ad.

The rationale I used was that all 5 seasons of the Gilmore girls were available at that price and that the ad DOES imply the same price point for The West Wing sets.

So I just called the Trumbull, CT. store and asked about seasons #1 - #5. The clerk replied that all of those sets rang up at $22.99 each.

So my advice to you is go to back and argue with whomever to get them to ring them up at $22.99 or to at least check in the computer.

This deal is CONFIRMED for any of my CT. homies :fro: who are interested.

Thanks for checking, Speedy. Your posts are well appreciated.

I am SOL anyways. My Target only has S5 on the shelf, but I was going to try and pricematch at CC. I called the main Target number, but the rep on the phone did sound like a dofus.

Yes 1 2 and 3 are on sale. I had to defend the clerk at BB who was price matching. The mgr. said when it is listed like this, it usually means they are available but not on sale. BB can be a pain in the butt sometimes.

IDrinkMolson 04-24-06 06:19 PM

Picked up Nip/Tuck Season 2 today.

West Wing

I am interested in West Wing Season DVDs (4 and 5). Are they really 22.95?

Yes they are indeed.

See post #58 for confirmation.

picked up nip/tuck s2 & the oc s1 today. thanks again for the early prices!

fidodido 04-26-06 06:58 PM

I pm'ed Veronica Mars at BB today.

A quick check of my local BB's and CC's showed that only about 1/5th of my local stores even had a copy of it in stock. I don't know if people went PM mad or what. But that was just odd.

I'm sure that's exactly what happened.. which is why I did all my buying last week before Target's circular came out! All the CC's around here have pretty pathetic dvd departments (in comparison to BB, but I don't have a BB credit card), so I knew I needed to take advantage of the advance knowledge. I'd say it was much easier to find all the Gilmore Girls and the Veronica Mars sets last week at CC, than it was this week. As it was, it took hitting three to get all five GG's.. And yeah, I went back and pricematched everything sunday morning with no problems whatsoever, 110 percent.

I *wish* CC had a beefier dvd dept. It would have been nice to go in this week with all five GG's in hand.. pricematch 'em all down to 20.29, and then slap down a $15 off $100 coupon that's been popping up lately. That would have been the best deal..

I am truly sorry that you were disappointed. I am starting to receive e-mail from from folks stating that they are being denied DVD price matching (which is OBVIOUSLY beyond my control). Some of you have been hurling epithets that I Have not seen in some time.

As as result, I have decided that I will no longer post advance pricing threads. If you are are all TOO willing to attack the messenger, than I can no longer place my lowly job at risk in order to appease the VORACIOUS appetite some of you posess.

I am truly sorry................... :(:

If you were replying to me specifically, I think you misread my post. I wasn't disappointed in the least. They pricematched everything at CC, no hassles, no questions, 110 percent.. Every set went from 49.99 down to 20.29.. and I'm getting 50 bucks back from the rebate..

So, no I wasn't disappointed at all, and I'm surprised people are having problems with the pricematch! The ad from Target can't be any clearer.. How can they be getting denied!?

Only thing I'm disappointed in is CC's lousy dvd department when it comes to boxsets.. usually a jumbled mess and not enough in stock.

Speedy,

I really look forward to your posts, and I would be sad if you threw in the towel because of a few anal whiners. Your posts save me from having to buy a Sunday paper, and I'm sure the mass majority here appreciate your efforts. Thanks.

tonymontana313 04-27-06 12:11 AM

Speedy, don't let the few rotten apples ruin what you graciously do for the rest of us. The lot of us here are extremely grateful for the job that you do and we look forward to your early ads. Please come back! -pray-

Shack 04-27-06 08:28 AM

Speedy -- Thanks so much for all the work you do. I also hope you won't give up because of a few jerks who want to blame you for their bad luck. The early ads are very appreciated!

Michael Corvin 04-27-06 08:58 AM

Yep. I for one appreciate the advance notice. Don't let the few idiots ruin it for the masses.

Strong Agreement.

msmagic 04-27-06 12:21 PM

So agreed. I lurk here more than post, but I ALWAYS look for your posts. It helps me manage my spending in advance! THANK YOU!

TheMovieman 04-27-06 02:19 PM

I just wanted to contribute the same sediments as above. I hope you don't stop posting these because of some lame a-holes. If it weren't for your posts, I probably would've never even known about this sale or the MANY others!
