Can you say what is wrong with this disc? I know the previous release was non-anamorphic, is this release still non-anamorphic? Also, was the movie remastered and are there any additional features that was not on the previous disc?

Surprised to see so many people ordering From Dusk Til Dawn, being as it is non-anamorphic.

Thanks for the post, already owned the majority of these that interested me but I did order Copland CE and Dirty Pretty Things.

Well the movie is pretty badass and there hasn't been news of a re-release in years and it's only $5.99.

Yup, still non-anamorphic, however it does add 4 deleted scenes. Your best bet for this title is to get a different region's release (if you have multi region capability).

2-Disc Special Edition Region 0 NTSC is the way to go here.

thanks both of you for the heads up here. I caught part of this movie on Showtime I think it was a few years ago and actually like it quite a bit and so went to look for what it was called and if it was on DVD. I bought it in the last 5.99 sale from DDD (when you bought 2 got one free AND they were 5.99) I have not yet opened it and am glad I waited because I hate when they release cut up crap on US only release. to Ebay with it and hope to get back some of my money and I will getting the region 0 version.

Can You please cite your source for this? Allen does not do special features, so I cannot see how there would be an SE. I searched DVDtalk and the internet for SE info but could not find any. One of the reasons I ordered this was b/c I didn't think there would ever be an update b/c Allen does not do special features.

Financial reasons, mostly im 20 years old in college drive a Z28 camaro with only liability, im going to be driving 30+ MPH and a modded V8 5.7 Z28 gets about 10-13mpg on a good day lol. So im going to sell my car for whatever I can get(its been in an minor accident and I only had liability) but need to buy a new car so the dvds just had to go trust me its not something I wanted to do but I had to get my priorities straight, I got almost what I paid for them anyway(lots of bargain shopping/ddd sales/columbia house $5 averages, ect).

This only topped it off to make my decision but I must admit it had a factor in it.

I MISS MY DVDS ALREADY!!! Going to buy back some essentials then wait for this HiDef battle to begin/end. I dont recommend selling your dvd collection to anyone unless you want you must even then you'll have some regret.

If only DDD were on ******, Stockback, Fat Wallet, etc. Then at least I'd feel like I was getting a tax return when I get a big huge check back.

Thanks Pro-B! Hardly an authority my ass. That's a hell of a lot more than I know about those. I picked up some of your recommendations from the Sony sale and was not dissapointed.

Just to be sure...does the Three Colors Trilogy boxset have anything that the three individual releases doesn't have or is the boxset simply a box for the three releases? Thanks...

i'm pretty sure it's just a box - the discs are the same.

Oh..too many questions in this thread to answer now. So, I would do my best.

First of all the film was edited not cut for the US (and replicated Australian) release. I had a thread about this exact topic and looked in here so I could post it but could not find it. To make a long story short all European releases (Swedish, Danish, UK) are mastered from the Sandrew Metronome source. That is why they are identical and that is why I think IMDB lists different running times. The North American and Aussie versions are not mastered from the Sandrew print (which is not something to worry about in this specific case). I think what you have here is a similar situation to the one that awhile ago involved the Italian The Legend of 1900.

Second question: there is nothing in the Trilogy boxset that is missing from the individual discs. As mentioned already it is just a cover slip that binds all 3 together.

Third question: Mighty Aphrodite: the source is French dvdclassic.com where I saw a discussion that a anamorphic SE is in the making (note: R2).

Fourth question: yes, Ransom is non 16/9. While I am not a big fan of the film it is rather unfair to call something a SE when the most basic element of the initial presentation has not been upgraded.

Tom ...I am glad you found something for yourself in the SONY sale.

Ciao,
Pro-B
