Horror titles for $4.88 at Wal-Mart

Forgot to post this earlier.

Stopped at my Wal-Mart this morning and they had a new display of $4.88 movies they had just put out, but they were all horror movies. I don't remember many titles, but ones I can recall are:

Leprechaun
Waxwork / Waxwork 2
Wishmaster / Wishmaster 2
Pumpkinhead II
Amityville Horror
titles (forget which ones)

I know there were a LOT more.

Cool, thanks for the heads up!

Deadman36g 03-28-06 07:50 PM

Ohhhh, I gotta check this one out. Thanks for the info

Bill Geiger 03-28-06 07:59 PM

Good deal on the Waxwork/Waxwork II considering I paid $7.42 at Deepdiscountdvd.com during their 20% off sale.

GeoffreyL 03-28-06 08:02 PM

Thanks for the heads up op. I will have to look for the display this weekend.

alfonsosoriano 03-28-06 08:18 PM

I'm definitely going to endure the pain of going into Wal-Mart to check this out.

>_<

Snowmaker 03-28-06 08:37 PM

No big deal, but Cabin Fever was another in the display.

sataniko 03-28-06 09:13 PM

I was there this morning and didn't see anything, I guess I'll be back tomorrow or Thursday.

Snowmaker 03-28-06 09:27 PM

A lot of them were ones I've never seen or even heard of.

There were none of the big names like Freddy, Jason, Michael......

SunMonkey 03-28-06 09:57 PM

Cool. Thanks.

FangsFirst 03-29-06 06:50 AM

If Pumpkinhead would show up, the original, I might finally buy it.
But until then I'm waiting for a widescreen version, even if I'm waiting forever...

I hope there's something neat hiding in there though...so far it sounds less than impressive to a horror fan :\

I need to start carrying a notepad with me.

I just know I saw nothing I wanted, and I like a good horror movie.

Could someone post a complete listing?? I'm a sucker for these $4.88 deals

DVDFreaker 03-29-06 09:01 AM

I picked up CandyMan 3 and The Dentist, thanks for the heads up!

STEVEIGNORANT 03-29-06 09:16 AM

This sounds like a Lion's Gate/Artisan sale. Those are all titles from them, so the Amityville ones are probably 1992 and whatever else they own.

cisman 03-29-06 10:34 AM

Hmmm may have to keep an eye open for these. Can you post where in your Wally you found them. I know they are different but it gives me places to look.

alfonsosoriano 03-29-06 10:37 AM

I know one Walmart usually has a bunch of their $4.88 DVDs right when you walk in.

EdTheRipper 03-29-06 10:41 AM

I looked around my Wal-Mart today and didn't see this display. :(

old-boo-radley 03-29-06 03:48 PM

Anyone in Canada see these flicks offered?

bigt7117 03-29-06 04:29 PM

Here is what my store (Omaha, Ne) has: Murder of Crows (Cuba Gooding), Wishmaster 1/2, Wishmaster The Prohecy Fulfilled, Waxwork 1/2, Prom Night 3/4, Leprechaun, Leprechaun - Back 2 Tha Hood, Leprechaun 2 , Red Carpet Double Feature: Fear/Parents, Tommyknockers, Blood Trail, House of the Dead, Amityville - New Generation, Amityville - It's About Time, Pumpkinhead 2 - Blood Wings and the only other movie I remember wass some movie with Namoi Watts.

Deadman36g 03-29-06 07:15 PM

I went to Wal-Mart and saw the display...

pretty much everything that I can remeber has been mentioned except one that I haven't seen mentioned is Stephen King's Rose Red

scarredgod 03-29-06 09:51 PM

Parents!? i need to find this at that price.

hiccup 03-30-06 04:57 AM

Rose Red doesn't sound too bad if I see it.

cisman 03-31-06 09:06 AM

Mine also had The Blair Witch Project and The Tommyknockers. I almost picked up both but threw them back when I realized they were both full screen.

Oh and mine actually put out a display that was a mix of these movies and the other 4.88 movies that was just released. I believe it was the MGM display with Cyborg etc.

Jamie Cole 03-31-06 10:31 AM

Tommyknockers and Blair Witch are both 1.33:1, which is their original aspect ratio. Tommyknockers was a TV film and has never been, nor should it be, widescreen. Blair Witch was, I believe, 8mm or at least was framed to look that way. It has also never been widescreen, even in theaters. If a theater displayed it that way, they were actually displaying it incorrectly.

Point being: Buy them, if they're both something you'd want to own! Both are fun in their own way.
