I thought about getting Happy Birthday To Me but wasn't the music replaced in it, or am I thinking of another title?

It looks like more titles were added since the sale was originally posted here, so if you checked it out within the first hour or so, go back and look again.

Yep, it was. I looked on Amazon and it said it was replaced with 80's electro music or something like that. Took that right out of the cart.

Read something similar here on DVDTalk. I ususally try to research my blind buys. Good call.

I'm having a really hard time narrowing it down to 5 titles.

Also, I highly recommend Good Bye, Lenin! If I didn't already own it, I'd be all over it.

Wow, I've been waiting for MYSTIC MASSEUR to drop in price for a LONG time. I'll happily take it for $6. It's been over $20 everywhere else.

The review on "Innocence" also mentions a pretty awful transfer, which disappoints me because it sounded like something I'd like, being a girl and all.

Ended up ordering (after a lot of reading):

VA SAVOIR (WHO KNOWS) $ 5.98 1 $ 5.98
BAADASSSSS! $ 5.98 1 $ 5.98
THE EXPERIMENT $ 5.98 1 $ 5.98
NIL BY MOUTH $ 5.98 1 $ 5.98
SAFE $ 5.98 1 $ 5.98
VANYA ON 42ND STREET $ 5.98 1 $ 5.98
Tax: $0.00
Shipping: FREE
Your Total: $35.88

I wonder if we'll get all of the titles that we are ordering since we don't know how many DDD will be getting in stock.

I'm sorry but I have a hard time believing Sony will discontinue all of these titles for the long term. What I expect to happen is that they will re-release them with different artwork to stimulate new sales. Just my 2 cents.

The right price.

When getting close to Walmart in store buys in price a good deal....
Buying East/West, and wondering about The Man withouth a Past and
Goodbye Lenin as blind buys.....was hoping there'd be habla con ella and apres vous - 2 recent foriegn flicks I really liked.

I, however, can't believe that that would be a particularly profitable endeavour for most of these titles.

Regardless, I'd say that there's little risk of many of these titles being double-dipped with new features or transfers... so $6 is better than $20 for new artwork, right?

There was an article on the New York Times yesterday saying that MGM's catalog was not yielding the profits Sony was hoping. I hope this isn't the result.

That is crazy conclusion to come to soon when you consider they've only released maybe 100 new titles from MGM's HUGE catalog since purchasing it from MGM. I don't think this is the result of anything but just to move titles that aren't selling well or have been over manufactured. When you consider it only costs the average studio $1.50-$2.00 (if that) to produce your "average not special edition" DVD catalog title in Mexico (That is where a majority if not all of Sony's discs are manufactured) then you really shouldn't be surprised Sony or any other studio for that matter for selling them this cheap.
