note the title: Harry Potter & Goblet Of Fire (2 Disc) - Widescreen Dubbed Subtitle AC3 - DVD

Best Buy mislabeled all of the Goblet of Fire discs as "2 Disc", probably because that's what they've all been in the past. I guarantee if you order it for in-store pickup, they'll grab the 1 disc version, because that'll be the SKU that's listed for the $14.99 price. Maybe some people will be able to fight with the manager and get the 2-disc version at that price, but it's a huge YMMV, and probably a huge pain in the ass as well.

As much as I'd like the 2-disc at $14.99 (which is what the previous HP films have cost), I'm not going to get into a huge argument over $5.00.

silvernackle 03-06-06 10:44 AM

will they honor typo? if not then, i'll just go to target for the exclusive 3-d cover.

TheMovieman 03-06-06 03:16 PM

Amazon raised their price for the 2-Disc SE to $20.99, hope you already pre-ordered yours...

yourlocalcinema 03-06-06 03:16 PM

For what it's worth, there was a situation like this with the Mystic River 3 disc (at least I'm pretty sure it was Mystic River) and my roommate was able to argue and get it for in store pickup at he price of the bare bones because of a typo on the website. I'm sure it's still very YMMV, but it's not impossible for them to honor it.

Anubis2005X 03-06-06 03:25 PM

If this is anything like the cover for Batman Begins, I'll be at Target on Tuesday. Damn you Warner Brothers!!!

Well damn. I didn't. And 20 bucks [without rebate] is the magic price point to me.
Looks like I'm waiting for the inevitable price drop. Not a huge deal, since we still haven't watched the third movie yet.

Orbi-Wan Techno 03-06-06 06:53 PM

I use the reward bucks I just got and pick up the 2D set tomorrow...

Snowmaker 03-07-06 07:19 AM

So, what are some Wal-Mart prices found so far for the 2-disk?

GreenMonkey 03-07-06 10:06 AM

Best price on the overpriced 2-disc so far for midwesterners (unless you want to do the FYE rebate deal):

Meijer has it for $21.99. There's a $3 off coupon at Meijer.com.
http://www.meijer.com/harrypotter/goblet.asp

For those that have trouble printing the coupon without an edge being chopped off (like me), go to print preview and set the margins to 0".

$21.99 - $3 = $18.99. Almost reasonable.

Just to confirm...

The 3D cover at Target in on the 2 disc versions?

Specs From Target.com

Looks like it, since the tag at the top of the slipcover says Two-Disc Deluxe Edition. Now, the question is whether the cover is worth the extra few dollars?

EDIT: No, IMHO.

mclori 03-07-06 10:53 AM

I picked up the 3d 2-disc at Target in Holland, MI. Unfortunately, they labeled each and every one with a pricing gun on the front cover. I got the label off after carefully peeling it, but they could have labeled it some other place rather than on the 3d cover.

Just got mine too. All the ones back in the DVD section were tagged too on the cover, but the bunch they had on an endcap by the registers had no price tags on them.

Took me a while to find a dentless, scuffless, crease-free one though.

Well, the cover does make the spine look more like the first two digi-paks.

myopic_Raiderfan 03-07-06 11:06 AM

So would you say the cover is worth $2-3 extra?

I'd say the better question is, are you hurting financially enough to where you need to worry about spending $2-3 more?

tjn007 03-07-06 11:15 AM

The CompUSA deal must have gone under the radar but they have a pretty good deal for both the single ($14.99) and 2-disc version ($19.99)

Don't shame me into spending money! lol I would say most of us pm and its not a matter of do we need to save a couple of bucks here or there although its finacially prudent, but more of an obsession that started when I got 3 dvds for $1 each shipped from 800.com back in the day.

Saying that I do prefer a nicer looking dvd IF its done well and not an obvious "book of the dead" type of release where I get the same content for triple the price.

dvd182 03-07-06 11:21 AM

I apparently got the last 2-disc w/cover at my local Target, at least for now. It looks pretty cool.

C'mon! Everybody's doing it. :D

You could always just put the cover on ebay if you don't like it. I'm sure there are some who don't live near a Target that would love to have one.

And my Target had TONS of every version.

the Target cover is actually one of the better lenticulars. very detailed and truly 3-D.

gryffinmaster 03-07-06 11:54 AM

EDIT: I don't know my lenticulars, so I really can't gauge whether it's a good one or not. ;)

I'll add CompUSA to the list while I change Amazon's price once again... They're now up to $21.99, lol.
