Star Trek, Matrix and other titles $9.99 at Best Buy

Starting tomorrow (or when they get around to adjusting the prices) Best Buy will have several titles on sale for $9.99. I'm including a list of titles with their original prices that are currently higher then $9.99. I might have missed a few, so feel free to let me know if there's something I missed and I'll update it when I can.

Earth Sea Trilogy ($15.99)
League of Extraordinary Gentlemen WS ($11.99)
Matrix ($14.99)
Matrix Reloaded ($14.99)
Matrix Revolutions ($14.99)
Saving Private Ryan ($13.49 - not sure this is right original price)
Star Trek: Wrath of Khan ($16.99)
Star Trek: Voyage Home ($16.99)
Star Trek: Undiscovered Country ($14.99)
Star Trek: Generations ($14.99)
Star Trek: First Contact ($15.99)
Star Trek: Insurrection ($14.99)
Star Trek: Nemesis ($14.99)
Starship Troopers ($22.99)
Truman Show WS ($14.99)

FYI, today (2/25) is the last day to pick up Starship Troopers Special Edition at Circuit City for $7.50.

Are the Star Trek DVD's the Special Collector Editions? If anyone is looking to pick up the whole set, you can pick up 1-9 in the Columbia House DVD club for half the price.

All of the Star Trek SCE's are getting a price drop very soon. Looks like Best Buy is putting them on sale before they drop.

Yes, based on the information I have these are the special editions of the Star Trek movies. I thought someone (C.C.) had a better price on Starship Troopers, but it's still worth posting incase someone doesn't make it in today and still wants to pick it up for a reasonable price. (Keeping in mind that the $22.99 listed is certainly not reasonable!)

Did you have a CSR do a price check?

The Star Trek titles will drop in price on 3/7. At that point, they should be 9.99 in stores, I hope. I only have 2 of the CE's.

Where'd you get this information? I work at BBY and haven't heard of this.

Not sure if I should ask this here, but is there, or will there be, a box set for TNG movie like there was for the original crew set? I've seen a box of all the movies, but not this. Thanks!

As I mentioned, some stores won't be changing the prices right away. They all got moved to race track displays that are $9.99 and $14.99 yesterday. This is the same thing that happened with To Kill a Mockingbird, and The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly SE last time. Unfortunately it's up to BB corporate to change these titles in their system and just because they get moved to the right display doesn't mean they change the price right away. It took a couple of weeks for the right price to be adjusted on TKAM and GBU (and several other titles). I got this information the same way I got the information for the $9.99 MGM deal that wasn't advertised.

Unfortunately I don't think so.

I was wondering about this as well and really wanted one and have been waiting for one to match the original crew movies. But a no go as far as I can tell.

My apologies for the early false alarm. I didn't realize the sale prices for the last displays (race track fixtures) didn't end until the 4th of March. They were supposed to be changed over in the stores as of the 26th of February. Some stores still don't have them changed over and Best Buy has some of the prices updated, but not all of them. Unfortunately the same thing happened last time around with To Kill A Mockingbird and several other titles that took a few weeks for the system to catch up with. Hopefully Best Buy will get thei respective acts together and fix this, so I can get this egg off my face. Think of it as a little promotion for Disney. I'm doing my Chicken Little "the sky is falling" impersonation. Again, my apologies for jumping the gun on this, but hopefully this will be fixed soon.

Really?

What I'm seeing as of 2:30 p.m. March 20:

TMP: $16.99
TWOK: $9.99
TSFS: $16.99
TVH: $9.99
TFF: $12.99
TUC: $9.99
Gen: $9.99
FC: $9.99
Ins: $9.99
Nem: $9.99

Three of them - TMP, TSFS and TFF are still over $9.99. Which sucks. TFF is the only one I don't have - because I won't pay more than $10 for it.

At $9.99, I may "upgrade" on Nemesis. Are the bonus features really worth it???

FINALLY!

Best Buy was a little slow on the corrections for these, but glad to hear they finally got around to doing it. We were informed last week that they were made aware (again) of the problems and were going to be fixing them "soon." I personally submitted a list for them of the titles that weren't ringing up right, but that doesn't necessarily mean they jump to action. At least it's finally done. (Of course, now it's cheaper for the Star Trek titles at least at FYE after rebate, but that can't be helped.)

What's finally done?

TMP, TSFS and TFF are all showing above $9.99.

And how do you present them a list of titles that aren't ringing up right? Based on what??? This wasn't in their ad, IIRC. And sometimes, even when it IS in their ad, they won't honor it - Enterprise anyone?

???
