Anchorman/Wake Up Ron Burgandy NEW OOP - In Stock $31.98 @ Wherehouse.com

Anchorman/Wake Up Ron Burgandy is in stock at wherehouse.com for a brand new copy. I tested this out about a week ago thinking it was a mistake but low and behold I received my copy today. This is a good chance to pick up the OOP DVD at a reasonable price.

I bit. Hopefully it works...

$32 is reasonable?

I got it for $18 on release day. Is this rare now?

Where did you get the 2 pack for $18 on release day?

darkshadowdog 02-14-06 02:11 PM

They have it for 20 at my best buy... Should I pick it up? Is it rare?

Admiral Ackbar 02-14-06 02:28 PM

Same here. I've seen it for $20 at Best Buy.

Shagrath 02-14-06 02:33 PM

Wake Up, Ron Burgandy sells pretty regularly on eBay for $30 by itself, so yeah, this is probably a decent deal for those who didn't pick it up on release week.

darkshadowdog 02-14-06 02:40 PM

Wow, i'll pick it up then...

yourlocalcinema 02-14-06 02:47 PM

Wow, I had no idea this was rare. I picked up my two pack at Wal Mart for less than $20 during release week as well.

JiM T 02-14-06 03:54 PM

I got it through Columbia House a few weeks ago. It was around $28 IIRC, but the blow was softened by promos they were running at the time.

Anyhow, just a heads-up for CH members...

whotony 02-14-06 04:12 PM

this is the 2 pack you are referring to, right?
my best buy still has these in stock and the shelf seems to get refilled all the time.

i can get about 5 of them if i wanted.
$29

The Best Buys near me also recently received shipments of the two-pack. I think it may be back in print.

TheKing 02-14-06 04:33 PM

I think I saw one at Best Buy a few weeks ago that still had the bonus disc with it. I think it was the Bst Buy in Orange, or maybe the one in Fullerton.

that's what i am saying. $32 is ridiculous for this set.

do you like the movie? otherwise why would you pick it up?

joshtown 02-14-06 05:40 PM

I see these things everywhere. They are far from rare, and can't imagine they're of high demand.

spinning plates 02-14-06 08:15 PM

this is definately not worth $30, but maybe $20.

chileorgullo 02-14-06 09:26 PM

buy this at some place that over prices dvds and will have them left over, like a Tower, or Blockbuster, I still see it at Tower.

TheMovieman 02-14-06 09:28 PM

Is the "Wake Up Ron Burgundy" worth even watching? Isn't it just slapped together outtakes? I've found the regular DVD (just Anchorman) for less than $10... Can't imagine "Wake Up" being worth $21.98.

ShallowHal 02-14-06 09:46 PM

It's $30 on half.com, and $55 on Amazon's marketplace. If it's back in stock, the market is completely unaware of it.

jpdude 02-14-06 10:02 PM

i also got it at BB on release day for 17.99

dvdjunkie32 02-14-06 11:22 PM

If you can find one with the bonus disc, grab it immediately. I sold the set with bonus disc on Ebay for $50 bucks a few months ago. Wake up is definitely worth viewing for fans of the movie. In fact, I found it more hilarious than the original movie because it featured a lot more gags with Brick.

TheMovieman 02-15-06 12:17 AM

BTW, anyone who hasn't seen it (like myself) and use Netflix, they have it for rent.

My local Tower has a copy, but it's $39.99. Personally, I'd pay $20 for this set, but not more than that. The movie was ok, but wasn't that good.

If you're a (big) fan of Anchorman, it's worth it to get the set. There's some gold to be found among Wake Up... that makes it worth the 90-minute watch. However, if you're not, just go with the regular DVD.
