I don't think there is a 4-7 pack, Rightstuf just bundled them together (they actually just put volumes 4-6 in the box that 7 came in).

Keep checking Rightstuf every Thursday. They will usually bring back a previous weekly special after a month or two.

I meant to mention this yesterday, but new lowest price on Revolutionary Girl Utena: Black Rose Saga Collection as a result of a price drop. One more set to go (I think?), and getting the entire set at a decent price wouldn't be too difficult, especially if you wait for the DDD 20% off sale.

The $5.99 was a 1 day sale. It was the usual $11.99 with a 1 day sale of an extra 50% off of all clearance. The new every day price is $8.39 and if they have another 50% off of all clearance, then it would be $4.20.
According to the Hot Topic website, they are taking an additional 30% off of all clearance items from now through Monday, the 20th. This would now make Samurai Champloo 6 just $5.88.

Added a note to the update.

How is the Utena Black Rose Collection compared to the first collection? I generally liked the first one, but I hated how they blatantly reused long segments of animation in a lot of the episodes (and I also hated that little rat with big ears).

Had my ADV order arrive today -- everything was in great shape: no floaters as far as I can tell and the holes are much smaller than I'd expected (more like someone pricked the plastic over the UPC rather than drilling a hole in it).

Hey justbarelymovin, did you get the e-mail I sent to you Friday? A previous e-mail to you bounced and I was wondering. E-mail me if you can.

John,

Dunno what the prob is. I just e-mailed you, and I checked my blocked addresses to make sure yours wasn't on there, and it wasn't, so maybe it's something on your end again? Anyway, try hitting me back. Hopefully it'll work this time!

I don't know if my local Hot Topic is just weird or what, but they've been having the "50% Off All Clearance" sale almost every other Saturday it seems, including today...checked on the Samurai Champloo tin...was marked at $11.00 or so here, making it $5.50 with the 50% off...I passed on it, because I have yet to see most of the series, and didn't want to start at Vol. 6 or whatev.

Did pick up a Trigun Maximum figure and Street Fighter: Balrog figure for $3.50 a pop. Sweetness. Now my high-quality Sota brand Balrog can fight my low-quality Jazwares brand Ryu.

Astro Boy (2003 series) $20.74 @Overstock

If this is a repost, I apologize.

I was looking for deal of the 1980 Astro Boy series but bumped into this awesome deal of Astro Boy 2003 series.

Overstock Link

It's more than $15 lower than other online prices.

I've never seen this series and I appreciate someone give a comparism to the 1980 series.

This was on dvdpricesearch a couple days ago, but I forgot to post it. Thanks for the reminder!

Also, since Hot Topic seems to be YMMV, I'm just going to leave the Samurai Champloo Vol. 6 (LE tin) at what it currently is, but that might be a good tip for people to look into.

This is the series that was shown on American tv for a little while before being cancelled ( I think it was originally on Kids WB, then moved to cartoon network). IMHO, it was a great reworking of the original Tetsuwan Atom with better animation and a more cohesive plot. The downside is that these are only dubbed in English, there is no Japanese track.

I don't know if it's dead at the Best Buy B&M, but the prices have gone back up online for the recent Best Buy deals. Damn, I really wanted to get the FMP-Fumoffu Volume 1 with box for $11.99.

Just picked up Gantz season 1 and Getbackers vol 7 at my local BB. Used 2 coupon at once with no problem.

Many of the prices go up online, but remain the same in-store. I'm pretty sure you'll be able to snag it at that price B&M--Let us know if you try. Good luck!

Edit: New weekly specials up.

Spotted the new 2-Disc DVD Ranma OAVs Boxset at BestBuy today (notorious for always breaking the release date). Price marked at $36.99, or about $26 with the 30% off coupon. Very nice episodes, highly recommended. Cheap snap-case design, but the set includes some collectible postcards.

Bestbuy.com linky (Not 4 discs, and still priced $44.99 online)

This is actually cheaper online (no tax) unless used with the coupon, but I went ahead and threw it up anyway since the coupon is still applicable and it is pre-release.

Was it a brick case or a digipak?

It's a brick case, similar to DaiGuard Complete Season and Silent Mobius Complete Season release. (Just a thick Amaray DVD case)

Of the 3 Best Buys that i frequent, none of them had the Animerica book with the coupon out until today. Brilliant strategy from BB, wait to make the coupon avaiable until the day after it expires!

I wish that coupon would've lasted forever! It's a shame it had to end so soon, especially in your situation.

Hopefully they'll do the coupon again... I barely had any time with mine!
