DDD has Best of A&E for 50% off "for a limited time while supplies last".

No coupon code required.

While the prices aren't breathtaking, there are some good deals in there, especially on Homicide and the World at War set.

That's no deal on the Python set. You can get it for that at Costco.

The Emma Peel Mega set for $99 is the old release that does not have the bonus disk and is not slim case. The new version is $108 at DDD.
I believe the actual discs for the shows are the same in both sets. It is just the new set takes up less space and has a bonus disk.

New version link:

The Upstairs Downstairs complete set is the latest edition which includes the spin off
Thomas and Sarah. At $125 this is a good deal.

That is true but not everyone is a Costco member and most people do not pay sales tax at DDD.

What's DDD's regular price on it? I think last time with the 20% off (their usual price) sale, it was in the $80-90 range.

A few of the DVDs listed can be found elsewhere at better prices. Edward R. Hamilton, Bookseller/HamiltonBook.com has season 3 of "Homicide" for $24.95 and two of the "Monty Pyton" best of DVDs (Idle, Palin) for just $5.95 each plus several other series/programs that are not part of the DDD sale. A&E's own store has season 1 of "Highway to Heaven" for $20 and, as another thread in this forum indicates, you might be able to find season 1 of "Highway to Heaven" or season 1 of "Ellen" at Ross for considerably less than what A&E has them on sale.

Not a bad price on "World at War" at all. I almost picked it up at Costco for $99.95. Glad I held off! Thanks for posting.

Just a word of warning: the transfers on some of the earlier Upstairs, Downstairs episodes are horrendous! Loads of tape dropouts, color flares, and one episode jitters all the way through! I read somewhere that some additional clean-up has been done on some of these episodes, but I can't recall where... For screen grabs of the problems, go to www.updown.org.uk

Thanks Bobhug, I ended up ordering the Homicide Season 3 set from that Hamilton bookseller's site. For under $30, I couldn't pass it up!

Homicide is pretty close to $50 even when it's not on sale. Still, pretty good prices. If I hadn't just dropped $72 on the Criterion sale I'd probably get Homicide s7. oh well

I'd wait on the Homicide sets. It seems that they're always on sale somewhere, and usually at better prices.

When are they going to finally include MI-5 in these "Best of A&E" sales?! I would think that should make the list!

This price is better than their 20% off price which I paid $87.60 for this set. So save another $12.

Why is it that even when on sale, most of A&E's stuff still seems really expensive?
