Gamestop B2G1F is still going (DVD's)

Just a reminder that this sale is still running, despite many locations claiming it would end last week or even earlier.

Stopped by one of the local stores tonight, left with the following:

Purchase #1
Sleeping Beauty (Disney, OOP)
Lady & The Tramp (Disney, OOP)
Sleeping Beauty (Disney, OOP)
Fantastic Four
Land of the Dead
Transformers: The Movie (OOP)

Purchase #2
Buck Rogers S1
Looney Tunes Golden Collection Vol 3
Family Guy vol 3

According to one of the managers, the sale will be on until the 17th, but as everybody knows, that date could change.

Other Gamestops must be MUCH better than my local one. I went by this evening and there was nothing but a wasteland of DVD's that no one should own.

Jeez, I wish I had that kind of luck. As it is, I only seem to find a good score when I'm in Ohio. The only one here in Saginaw is awful, as their selection is literally the exact same every time I go in there.

We've discussed this and it's all about location. I live in an area that has been on the downward slide for over a decade. It's a very uncultured, uneducated area. Thus, it's not all that surprising to walk into our GS and see what sort of titles are available. Now, you go to an area with some more culture and money, and you'll probably make out nicely.

I'd ditch that "Lady and the Tramp" soon, here, with the 2 Disc Platinum Edition on the way.

The sale has been on since the day after Christmas, officially. I've wiped out all the local stores as of late, and my last trip was on Tuesday.

Rambo Trilogy 4 Disc Set (Metal Sleeved/OOP) - $14
The Muppet Show: Season 1 - $18
Chasing Amy CC - FREE

...ended up selling "Chasing Amy" for $10, so got both of those sets essentially for $22.

I ended up buying like...6 copies of "Fear and Loathing" from them, just because I ahd already bought so much, and I needed another title for the B2G1F sale. So, I made out with a bunch of OOP Bond titles, Free Seinfeld Season 3, Free Exorcism of Emily Rose, Transformers Season sets for $27, etc.

Gotta love it.

Eh? Is this something on their website, listing what DVD's are available at what stores?

I've given up looking in Gamestop stores here in Los Angeles. I started going after reading so many posts about people finding treasures, but I have never once seen anything OOP or even worth getting at any of them.

The one at the mall is always bad, but the one across the street has given me some good finds whenever I visit town. Last Sunday I picked up Seinfeld season 6, Law & Order season 4, and West Wing season 5.

Amen to that brother! The selection here in Saginaw sucks. I get so jealous when i read others posts and see what some are able to find. Oh well, guess I should move.

Can anyone confirm this deal is still going on nationwide? I went by my local EB but the guy there said he didn't think the deal was still running, so I walked out. Or he is a moron?

You went to the wrong store. Gamestop is running the B2G1F sale not EB Games, even though they are under the same corporation. Maybe after the merger is completed in February, the sale will be in effect at both stores.

Went to two EB games (who are definitely running the sale, clerk told me about it without prompting) and two Gamestops today. Nothing good. I have some trade in credit that I would like to use too.

Went to Sun Valley (Concord, CA) Gamestop today, and they claimed the sale was no longer going. Too bad, since they had a bunch of stuff I would have picked up.

The two stores that I have in my area are either hit or miss. I've gotten a couple of good deals a couple of weeks in row. Then other times it's been six months without nothing new. Right now it seems to be slow.
