X-files Season 1 for 39.99 at Target YMMV?
I was in Target the other day, and saw X-files Season 1 priced at 39.99. I doubt that this is YMMV because they clearly had the sale price sign marked for this set. I have never seen this set priced this cheap. The other seasons were marked higher though.
The crazy thing is I went to Best Buy down the road, and the exact same boxset was priced at 96.00 bucks. Just crazy.

The repackaged sets are NOT suppose to be released until Jan 31. Probably the old digipak with a YMMV or new national regular sale to get you to start buying the series.
As for BB, they don't always update their stickers, which is why I wish they have a price scanner (a la wal*mart) in the DVD aisles. Then again, maybe they put their prices back up to SRP.
I'm personally going to wait until all 9 are released in the thinpaks and get a bigger discount.

I realize this is about Season 1, but I did see Seasons 2 and 3 at the Grandville, MI Best Buy for $41.99 today. Season 1 was still marked $96.99 though. Weird.

Stores will probably try and clear out the old sets before they get the new ones at the end of the month.
Remember the general public is not aware of everything us dorks are and they will eat up the markdowns thinking its the best deal ever.
