[QUOTE=Matthew Zolton]I'll post it again, since some people seem to have missed my message on this same page. You can do a price match at BB if your local wal-mart is out of stock. At my local BB they used the online walmart.com price to validate my claim.

I think this greatly depends on the BB you are dealing with. I have three BBs near my house/work and two of them refuse to price match with anything other than a flyer from Wal-Mart, CC, etc. The third store PMd for me once based on a printout from walmart.com but that was only after arguing with the manager.

Thanks - I went out and bought "Wonderfalls" last night, which I've been meaning to get for quite some time.

Scored Tru Calling at the Shelton, CT location. I already have all of the others that would interest me. A big thanks to the OP.

I'll go to Wal-Mart later today... so I assume that it's safe to say that Firefly is a good blind buy?

I just got a flyer for Jan 1-7 in Northwest Ohio and there was no mention of these boxed sets in it. They still may be in store everywhere starting the 1st, but it's not an advertised thing. The only DVDs advertised were the "assortment" of $5.50 discs.

I'm not sure what part of Northwest Ohio you're in but if you're near Strongsville, check out their Walmart. They've already put them out. By January 1, it will probably be slim pickins.

They were all $19.86 at my Wal-Mart today. Unfortunately Firefly and Dark Angel 2 were already gone. Thought about Tru Calling, but decided to pass. Couldn't see sitting through them again.

Anyone seen this display at any Walmarts in NC? None of the Winston-Salem stores had any of these displays.

Some asshole at my Wal-Mart put Futurama Vol.1 in the display with the $20 sets and after finally finding a scanner that worked it scanned $29.95, I got my hopes up for nothing.

I just got back from Wal-Mart. Found the display easily, which had everything...except for Firefly. I decided to go to the electronics department to see if they had any on the racks. They had none, so I decided to go check out (I had some other stuff to buy), when, right next to the register and the cashier on a counter was a copy of the DVD. I asked him if it was being held or anything, and he said no, and gave it to me. So, I got what I wanted.

I picked one of these up at Groton's Wal*Mart but did not see in Shelton this morning.

The display is in the electronics department, near the checkout by the CDs. I almost missed it yesterday because there was a line for checkout and a couple of old women were blocking the display. I politely said excuse me and they moved a whole two inches. Fortunately, I was able to squeeze by and grab a copy of Tru Calling. They had about 6 copies as of yesterday afternoon.

For some reason beyond me, the display at my Wal-Mart had a row of Big Momma's House on it...

You can use walmart gift cards online? Damn, now I wish I had ordered Firefly. I didn't feel like spending any more cash, but I have tons of gift cards to use...
My only walmart that had the display, now has 2-packs in the display. No more 19.96 box sets to be found. All gone...

I have been to all 3 of our local walmarts 2 x this week and have found none of the displays mentioned and no one there knew about this promotion! Is WM shipping really that bad cause I am not about to pay 4.97 for shipping just to receive a damaged product!
thanks-

None of the stores in Raleigh, Cary, or Knightdale seem to have them either.

Yep, even I had forgot about it until I went to their site to look at the new releases for the DVDs. You don't even need a credit card either, as long as the gift cards cover the entire expense. You can only enter two gift cards, but still, it's pretty cool. If there's something you can't find at your local WalMart, get a giftcard, put some money on it, go home, and order it online. Pretty damn sweet, if you ask me.

Kinda OT but I have been told by several managers and employees that Walmart contracts with Andersen (sp?) to handle movies and books (and maybe music?). They do stock and display much the same as a Pepsi or Coke vendor does in the grocery area. So knowing this, I'm not surprised that Walmart employees don't have a clue. Andersen employees said much the same and further stated that not all stores get the same merchandise. What they get depends on foot traffic, sales volume, etc. Bottom line is that not all stores, or even all supercenters get the same stock. Weird eh?
