If you don't mind paying for shipping ($10.17 total), there were a couple of stores in Louisville, KY that still showed availability. This is were I had mine shipped from. Still a great deal, even if everyone else is getting it for $6.67. There goes my average price per movie. =)

Yesterday after work I hit the shelbyville road Borders here in Louisville because they were showing 1 still in stock but they didnt really have any so don't waste your time with that Louisville location. I snagged the last one at the gardiner lane Borders. The store downtown at 4th and liberty still is supposed to have 1 available if anyone needs it. Just curious which store you had yours mailed from MurMur as when i headed over yesterday to the shelbyville rd store they were supposed to still have a copy.

Picked up the last one they had in the Waldorf MD location. The clerk was suprised at the price but I had no problem getting it. I had tried to get it last week when all I had was a printout of the online price, they said no can do. So I am happy that they dropped the price in store. Thanks for the post.

Picked one up last night in Cincinnati. To answer an earlier question, the cashier actually scanned the Borders price tag that said 33.99 on it, and it came up 8.99. She looked confused by it and said "that's a pretty good deal!".

I didn't know this either but bought it for 9.00 and sold it for 52.50. Wanted to keep it but for that price I had to sell it.

Just got back from picking one of these up for $8.99.
There was a small discussion between the 2 cashiers. The other one was saying she was sorry she didn't know it was $8.99, and now she felt bad. I'm guessing someone picked it up at 33.99. I didn't even try the coupon, 8.99 was good enough.
Thanks Cameron and BrentLumkin!

Where exactly does the confusion come in? I say sell, sell , sell!! Why would you not turn a 30$ investment into 150$?

Arrgh Stonestown Borders in SF said they had it in stock so I ran down there, but no dice, someone must have got to it this morning (what kind of jerk gets up before noon on a weekday!?!) But I did score Mellennium edition Re-Animator with that 30% coupon for 11 bucks So I'm not too bummed.

Well, I got screwed on my deal. Both clerks said that it was the wrong price and that the $8.99 was for the other edition. Ugh. I still bought it for $25, I had no basis to argue with them.

You know, I tried to get it for $8.99 at my local Borders and they wouldn't honor the online price!

Picked mine up yesterday. It took a little bit of waiting on my part. The store was so new that construction was still going on up front. The cashier rang it up twice then asked me to wait while he went to the info desk to talk to the manager. The look on his face when he rang it up the second time was utter befuddlement. He just knew it was some sort of price error, but didn't let on that it was ringing up so low, just said he had to check on something. I, of course, knew what it rang up as, but didn't say anything, just waited til he left to confirm it on the screen.
Then he returned with the manager and showed him the dvd and then turned the screen toward him. This is when I spoke up saying that it was a nationwide pricedrop. The manager then understood and agreed that it was a great price and explained to the cashier that sometimes corporate reprices and forgets to tell the stores of the new price. And then to cherry the top I presented my coupon. Anyway, the manager was very cool about it. The cashier was fine too, afterall, it was obviously a new job and new inventory (maybe even recently tagged) and he thought it was just a new store glitch.

Dude, think about that statement for 30 seconds. The vast majority of OOP discs have massive price drops in order to clear out old stock...the reason they go OOP in the first place is because they aren't selling well enough to justify making them any more.

I actually said that it was a nationwide Borders pricedrop because it was an out of print set that Borders was trying to get rid of. Sorry for the confusion with my original writeup.
Since so many others across the country are getting the same price I called it a nationwide drop. Also, Borders has a history of doing this. So while not official official, it seems pretty close to being so.

Just picked mine up. The $8.99 price didn't phase the cashier, but the word "Bootleg" in the title did. She thought it was an illegal copy or something!
