I have that one (courtesy DDD's 20% off sale)... and it is really great, being able to watch entire historic games from the sixers history, such as the game 4 clinching sweep against the Lakers in 83...

Wow, that price makes it almost worthwhile just so I could use the discs from the Celtic set as a doggie scooper.

Of course I already own the Laker set.

You should probably get the Lakers set to watch the Sixers in 2001 too

Too bad the KNICKS set isn't 1/2 off. I'd like to get it for someone as a XMAS gift. Still probably going to pick it up.

I respect the Lakers teams of the 80's... but Ive always been a 76ers fan (Erving is my fav player of all time, as he began his pro career for my hometown Va Squires in the ABA)... it was amazing for them to sweep the 83 series like they did against Magic and Kareem

Ive always had a problem with sixers personnel decisions... they broke that team up too soon after that title... oh well... at least they got the Dr his title... took long enough though with 3 losses in the finals to Portland and the Lakers, as well as stumbling against good Celtics tems

They actually DO include game 1 of that 2001 series BTW in the sixers set

Yea, no kidding. Why don't they have a dynasty set of the good teams like the Jazz and especially the Milwaukee Bucks. Honestly, I wish they had a set for the Bucks that showed some of their great games and the history of the team.

thks OP. Big Bulls fan here, so I picked up the Bulls set for 24.99. I wanted to get free shipping so I also picked up the Christopher Guest set (Mighty Wind, Best in Show, Guffman) for 19.99 more.

While I concede that the 76ers were a better team than the Lakers that year, the Lakers were decimated by injuries. Worthy was out (and although a rookie he was already a key member of the team) as was valuable role player Bob MacAdoo. I don't think it would have been a sweep if the Lakers had been at full strength.
