Has anyone who paid via paypal gotten their refund yet? Nice of them to give us five bucks to use on their site, but I'd like my money back so I can use it towards something else.

I never paid via paypal but their online help says they would issue store credit instead if original payment was made via paypal.

I paid via paypal, and received $16.06 in store credit. It should show up as a coupon on your second order. The $5 coupon should show up on your next order.

Got my refund today. Now to see how to spend that store credit...

honeybefly 11-14-05 03:52 PM

Haven't received my refund yet, nor did I get a $5 credit. I had to ask CS for one, which they promptly added. I got the Big Fish re-release for around $6 and some change. Now I gotta wait for my refund...

tonyc3742 11-19-05 02:38 PM

My card was refunded and my 5.00 credit does show up in my card.
It's not as good at 6 bucks, but the O's current price for this is 49.99.
It's 81 at TRSI.

ruk 11-20-05 05:14 AM

is the $5 credit attached to your account, so once i place an order it will decrease the price.

jeffrey r 11-20-05 08:14 AM

Yes, if you place an item in your cart, the $5.00 credit should show up right on that page and decrease the price of your order accordingly.

RonMexico 11-20-05 11:52 AM

LOL, they probably wouldnt have found it out if people didnt go crazy with it.

Or if someone hadn't taken it over to Slickdeals and then Fatwallet from there. People at those places order hundreds to put on ebay and kill deals all the time.

Ocelot 11-20-05 02:46 PM

It would be a sweetest deal of the year if it worked, but it didn't, oh well... i still haven't use my $5 credit yet. Yeah, i got the refund back to CC too. Overstock didn't even bother checking for the promotion coupon discount i used (i.e. the whole order is 10%, but refunded the exact pre-order price for it). Well, it's like 60 cents...

Though if you order something for less than the $5 total it will show that the coupon applies to shipping both on your order screen and confirmation screens but it will not apply to shipping. Checking your order status after placing the order will show they add it back.

Gotta love this ... while disappointed, I appreciate the speedy credit card refund and the $5.00 credit from Overstock, but they are obviously a little fragmented in their customer service department since today the following email showed up:

<i>"Thanks for your purchase of Neon Genesis Evangelion on 10/30/2005.
Please take a moment to rate this product. Product feedback allows our customers to benefit from your expertise and helps Overstock.com continually improve the customer experience."</i>

tonyc3742 11-27-05 08:32 AM

I just got the same..
Hmm...
"Never got product! Order was cancelled by Overstock!"

Patman 11-27-05 09:57 AM

I had to laugh when I got the same email from Overstock as well. I did notice the credit showed up on my credit card bill, and I was wondering what I had ordered, but finally figured it out.

justbarelymovin 11-27-05 10:23 AM

Got the same e-mail just now. Ha ha. And I believe that's the first time I've ever received an e-mail like that regarding one of my orders. Go figure!

Brent L 11-27-05 12:03 PM

I got the same email. It gave me a laugh this morning when I first woke up. :)

Bluebomber 11-27-05 12:18 PM

Same here, I imagine this won't be ending well

eau 11-27-05 01:07 PM

Same here. A shipping confirmation email would have made my day

sailor_moon 12-09-05 12:18 PM

So ... I received the Evangelion set today. I had my $8.03 refunded and was credited the $5.00 like everyone else. So it looks like I got the set free. Whoops, Overstock.

Everyone, check your mailboxes.

Wow, that would be SWEET! *fingers crossed*

justbarelymovin 12-09-05 12:42 PM

Wow, I'm hoping this is a fluke similar to the Charles Dickens set. It would totally make my YEAR. Ha ha. Thanks for the heads up, but I won't get my HOPES up.

cgray 12-09-05 12:54 PM
