The Fly SE 2 DVD $9.99 at bestbuy.com

Price just dropped today - it's on the 2-for-$20 list in this week's ad, but if you're like me and didn't see another title you were interested in purchasing, you can place an order for in-store pickup and bypass the shipping charges.

DJ_Longfellow 10-04-05 08:06 AM

Yep, I saw that...not sure if I could find The Fly:SE though.

I'll probably get both. I have a $5 RZ coupon too

Bluebomber 10-04-05 08:06 AM

Strange, The Fly is also pictured in the ad yet it isn't on the site at all. I was at Best Buy on Sunday and noticed they had the sign up for the Fly 2 already, but not the Fly.

It is on bestbuy.com - that's where the price of $9.99 was listed. Search Movies by Director => Cronenberg

Just to let you know, it's ringing up $9.99 in store anyways, even if it does have the $16.99 price tag on it. I wonder if all of the 2 for 20's are ringing up this way?

DJ_Longfellow 10-04-05 11:20 AM

I would be curious what the first FLY rings up for. I'm still debating if I want to pick these up. I know I like the movies, but I probably won't get around to watching them for a while.

All the 2/$20 I checked rang up at $9.99 individually. Picked up The Fly for $9.99, no brainer for me. Thanks!

Thanks, I guess I'll pick up The Fly and possibly Cinderella (I have my $5 RZ)

This was also the case at my Best Buy. They had a rack with all the 2/20 titles, but each had a 9.99 price sticker placed in front, not just The Fly dvds. I got the first one, rang up for 9.99.

Fly SE, A Man Apart rang up at $9.99, though Scary Movie 3.5 rang up at 14.99 (still got 2 for 20).

sorry I forgot to mention I had the $5 RZ cert too

Altimus Prime 10-04-05 07:14 PM

Got The Fly, too. Glad it was $9.99 by itself. I had been talking myself into getting both The Fly and The Fly 2 in the 2/$20 deal, but I really only wanted the original.

Or I was going to get just the first one at WalMart for $13.72. But paying less is always better. ;)

The Valeyard 10-05-05 03:18 AM

Picked up The Fly for $9.99 at my Best Buy. Couldn't pass it up for this price. Thanks for bringing this price revelation to light!

You just saved me a needless trip. Of course, every time I've gone to BB here in Manhattan, even if it's on a Tuesday early in the day, advertised titles that I want are nowhere in sight. It's probably been well over a year since I actually bought anything there - and it wasn't for lack of trying.

Yep. Couldnt find any on 6th and 23rd. I gues I'll get the $19 2-pack from Costco.

Although I found all the other new releases, I did not find the two-pack at my Costco. I had heard about this deal in advance, but has anyone actually found it at a Costco?

Yes, picked it up yesterday.

They are packaged side by side in a double wide red colored long box. They were displayed together with similar packages that offered a pairing of the original Planet of the Apes SE movie and the remake SE, and a pairing of the Predator and Predator 2 SE's.

And to answer future questions, yes both Fly DVD's came with slipcovers and inserts. Pretty slick ones IMO, the way it should be.

I tried to pick up The Fly yesterday as well.
One store had 3 copies but the slipcover was pretty banged up.
However, all other stores in the L.A./OC areas were pretty
much sold out. Maybe I'll go for a raincheck and pick it up when there are
plenty available to choose from.
Yes, I am picky. Lol.

Went to my local Best Buy today to pick up The Fly SE for $9.99, but they were sold out. I was able to get a raincheck for the $9.99 price, though.

alfredog1976 10-05-05 12:40 PM

Something to look out for, the dvd tray bottom handle broke, which holds "The Fly SE" main feature dvd. Going to go return it, but looking at BestBuy.com, looks like none of my local Best Buy's have it in stock :( (I'm picky too!)

nonametofame 10-05-05 07:16 PM

picked up the last copy at the Costa Mesa store. Thanks to the person who mentioned this deal.

cajun_junky 10-05-05 08:21 PM

I guess I will swing buy and pick up both The Fly I and II. From what I remember of The Fly II, I would not mind having it in my collection.
