(DEAD) Charlie and the Chocolate Factory: Deluxe Edition - Deal @ amazon.com

The Deluxe Edition of Charlie and the Chocolate Factory is up at amazon.com for only $16.98 right now. That's only a dollar more than what they're asking for the single disc edition.

Not sure if this price will stay the same for long, so you might want to preorder soon.

This deal would be the perfect compliment to the Batman Begins for me. Thanks!

Is this a new thing that Amazon is doing? Between this and Batman, it seems like they are really trying to take customers away from B&M because I'm sure that the 2 discs will cost over $20 when they come out, no?

You could get the 2 disc version of King Kong for $13.98. Another quality choice would be Office Space(with Flair) for $13.99.

Thanks! Ordered with the new Edward Scissorhands SE to get the free shipping. Now we just need a nice $17 price on the War of the Worlds SE and I will be all set .

Thanks, but I already ordered the box set of King Kong at Walmart. I wonder what other Warner sets are in the pipeline.

Office Space sounds kinda tempting.

I'm interested in ordering this from amazon...but I was wondering if they ship it out before the release date so we receive it on that date (11/8)?

Is anybody aware of how they go about that? Thanks!

I've had them do this before. Sometimes if I preorder early enough, usually 1 week or more before, It'll ship Friday or Saturday, maybe even earlier.

I received the first SPIDER-MAN one day before it's release, a Monday! Just pre-order and it ought to ship by the Saturday before the release. Of course this isn't always going to happen! Delivery time also depends on how far you are from the distribution center that is used.

Deep Discount DVD has got it for 18.76, free shipping, no tax in most states, if you didn't want to spend another 9 bucks for something else to get Amazon's free shipping.

I used the new release of The Big Lebowski to get my free shipping.... It was $13.99, just a buck more than if I got to CIrcuit City.
$30.97 total

I wish that was true, but the War of the World 2-disc is about $10 more than the single disc at Amazon.

Maybe they'll lower it like they have with the others.

I combined it with the 2 disc Polar Express which is $15.99 & will wait the extra 2 weeks for it since PE comes out Nov. 22nd & Charlie &TCF Nov. 8th. Both will probably be $5-$7 more in B&M's like Batman Begins. Now if they'd just lower War of the Worlds 2 disc & Cinderella Man 2 disc that'd be another pair that'll be very expensive in B&Ms. It's nice not to have to wait for an SE release but these dual releases are all being heavily discounted for the J6P 1 disc & the 2 discers are not discounted by near the same percentage at CC, BB & Target.

Damn, up to 19.98 now. I had just got the A9 discount reactivated too and was about to get this and something else for free shipping. Not so sure I shouldn't just wait for B&M prices now... Maybe there'll be a Wonka deal.

Glad I missed out on this one. Johnny Depp has publicly denounced the US and now lives in France. Screw him and his movies. My wife and I now boycott anything Depp related.

If I based my movie purchases on actor's politics or where they choose to live, I'd probably have a pretty small collection.

Great thread .

And by the way, he said something different, but the media being the incredible and reliable people they are, misquoted him just to sell newspapers. And if you boycott his movies, then you are missing one hell of an actor.
