All rang up on sale except for Dr. Strangelove and Close Encounters. Strangelove 40th is printed in the ad as part of the sale; Close Encounters 2-disc was in the 2/22 display and had a sticker on it. All of the rest were labeled 2/22 and rang up as such.

Dr. Strangelove and Sense & Sensibility are definitely misprints.

I'm sure they meant the regular editions of both but props to Borders for honoring the ad prices.

I don't think it's a misprint. The 2 disc Dr Strangelove was actually marked at $14.99 on the shelf at my store.

i know but that was a separate sale for Columbia Tri-Star Special Edition DVDs.

That's why that DVD didn't ring up as 2 for $22 and they had to manually adjust it.

picked up 2 strangelove's on the 2 for $22 deal. It rang up as so, but I grabbed the borders monthly flyer on the way in just to be sure. Thanks for the heads up on the flyer and thanks for the post OP

I ended up buying Fifth Element UE and Dr Strangelove 40th and they did NOT combine to a 2 for $22 deal!
Still, $14.99 for each of these was an OK price and I really SHOULD buy at least a couple of things at Borders each year to justify reading all their magazines and hanging out there as much as I do.

Thanks for the heads up! I picked up DrS & one of the other 2/22 titles and they rang up as such. No flyers in the store and most of the 2/22 titles weren't even marked on sale.

Fifth Element UE is not part of the 2/22 deal.

Yea, I tried to get Fifth Element included, but I got shot down. BTW, anyone else see the weird single-disk Leon: The Professional Deluxe version?

Not sure if these titles are already covered by the promotion being talked about here, but with my last Borders purchase, I got an announcement (not a coupon) that advertised that the following three DVDs will be available at 50% off during the weekend of 10/7-10/10: Sideways, Meet the Fockers, and Shark Tale.

Since I don't have Sideways yet, I'm thinking of picking up that one. Might also pick up Dr. Strangelove, if that $14.99 promotion is still going on.

That is the same group I picked up.
My store only had the cheapy version of Sense & Sensibility, so I passed on it for Close Encounters (2 disc CE).

Thanks OP

I picked up strangelove and close encounters, too. they both rang up much higher than 2/22, and i pointed out that ad. she had to call over a manager, who said, "this can't be right, but we'll honor it." he then tore that page out of the ad, and disappeared into the borders beyonds.

strange how many dvds were included that we suspect probably should not have been

Tell me about it - I have gotten a couple TV seasons that were priced as movies with the same title - The Job (the Denis Leary series) priced at $6.99!! (sells on amazon for $30+ used) - and Murder One for $12.99 (priced as "Murder was the Case") - both of these during buy 2 get 1 free sales to boot!

For anyone that has Dr. Strangelove out of stock, I was able to get them to order it and place the other title I wanted on hold.. They said there are plenty of copies in the wearhouse, and since the sale goes on until October 31st.. you'll have time.

I got Murder One for $5.99 during a B2G1 sale. Also priced at $5.99 was The Lord of the Rings: Two Towers Extended Edition.

hmm, i couldnt find anything in my local borders with the 2 for $22 sale. I didnt even bother to try and get that dr strangelove 40th because they had the old version in stock with the 2/22 sticker on it. Without the ad i figured i wouldnt waste my time.

anyone score this deal in North OC or lahabra area in cali?

I saw the old versions of Dr. Strangelove with those 2 for 22 stickers too. The 40th Anniversary had a $14.99 sticker on it. I was armed with the ad, but when I went to checkout, the 40th Anniversary edition rang up as part of the 2 for 22 sale.

Muahahahahahahaha, the lahabra borders had the 40th edition. I got the last one in stock. I had to go spelunking in the drama section, they had the older version labeled as part of the sale on the rack. They had the circular at the front of the store with the 40th anniversary pictured , but i did not need it. It rang up as part of the sale. The guy at the register was shocked, as he acknowledged that there were 2 versions of this movie. My guy feeling was that if this had rang up wrong, he would have denied me since the other one was stickered.

Great deal on an awesome movie. I also picked up the easy rider SE part of the deal.

Alien DC and Aliens SE for $ 22 dollars total? Amazon has the Director's cut for $23.XX w/o shipping. Picked them up and walked out a happy man. You know what's even better? The Alien flicks are blind buys for me.

Borders got a lot of my business today, with the usage of a 25% off coupon for another rare item

The Fifth Element SE is at Walmart for only $9.44. That's where I bought mine
