Fox War Classics at Sam's for $8.88

I bought Heaven Knows Mr. Allison and it includes a free Support Our Troops magnet (uh oh) and says they'll donate 50 cents from every purchase to the USO (up to $150,000.00). I also picked up Patton for $8.88. It's the 2 disk SE set.

My daughter got the The Sandpebbles for $8.88 as well.

Then we went to Walmart and got The Wedding Day for $16.87.

Lots of bargains at Sam's Club.... too bad I paid more for many of them.... I guess that's the nature of the beast when you want it NOW....

Whoa, I didn't realize the 2 disc Patton was still available anywhere. I'm going to have to get to Sam's soon and look for that.

They had several and there's a BUNCH of WWII movies in the special wrappings.... I wish I'd taken notes or something to be able to share the exact titles, but I know I saw some John Wayne and a Marlon Brando and a couple of Robert Mitchum, etc. I also got something called Hollywood's Biggest Stars and Hollywood's Greatest Actresses for $19.56 each. There's 10 DVDs in each set and they also had a comedy one and a horror one and sherlock holmes and a few more. Nice looking sets, but rather an odd way to keep them closed.

I can't believe they have the 2-disc Patton set. That has been OOP for, what, at least 3 years? Ebay or other online auctions are the ONLY places I've seen this sold for the past few years. I wonder why Sam's Club all of a sudden gets them.

It's also available in the Fox WWII BoxSet that also includes The Longest Day, Tora Tora Tora, and The Thin Red Line. That's how I got mine.

I thought I read somewhere that this set was also being changed to the 1 disc version.

actually, there were a few one day passes in the last dell catalog in the mail, dont remember if its home or SB.

Unless there is some cool code or something on the outside, i tend to toss them, but for some reason i was flipping through it. Might be worth it in the future.

No it's still in print, but I think what did happen was that it used to include the 2 disc and now it doesn't. I haven't been able to find this set at any B&M store so maybe it is a good idea to go to Sams and pick this one up.
