Any prices on Witness?

Artman 08-18-05 03:47 PM

Definitely Gladiator at CC...possibly the Ring2 although I'll have to read some reviews first...poster at HTF is saying video quality is poor, esp the new scenes.

Will order the Peter Weir SE's later, or pick them up if they're included in a $10 sale, which seems likely imo.

Yeah I know! GOSH!

There is no on package $10 coupon like they had a couple weeks ago for the Mystery Movie sets (McCloud, McMillan, Columbo).

Any coupons or rebates out there for us buying both sets?

madcougar 08-18-05 04:50 PM

$62.00 for Band of Brothers is pretty good. Not $5.99, but still much better than average. Thanks for the prices.

Costco will have it in the mid forties next week. They have $20 off coupons for HBO sets available at the register and the sale starts on August 22. Even though it's a great price for BOB, I'm finding it hard to buy it knowing that others have scored it for just $5.99.

Where'd you hear about this? Will this include Sex and the City?

Highfire 08-18-05 04:58 PM

I could have swore The Transporter:SE was coming out the 30th

m0vi3fan 08-18-05 05:55 PM

Band of Brother's is a good price, not as good as 5.99 though!

It was going to, but they moved it up. I believe that happened due to the sequel also being bumped up.

They have the $20 off coupon as part of their coupon sheets that they hand out at the register. I don't know if SATC is included-the picture on the coupon shows Sopranos, Deadwood and Six Feet Under boxsets. The sale runs from August 22 through August 28.:)

Gizmo 08-18-05 07:19 PM

Free Pocket Calender and $2 cheaper??!?!? Target all the way ;-)

I'm gonna try to get both the pricematch and the coupon :fc:

I'm having the same problem - I really want the set, but I don't know if my conscience will let me pay $40 more than I know other people payed for it... Oh well.

Anyways, I'll be picking up "Gladiator" for sure, and possibly "The Motorcycle Diaries," "In Good Company," "American Beauty," and "The Pianist." I'll wait for the Peter Weir films, since I already own "The Truman Show" and am not too desperate to own "Witness."

Pretty good week for sales.

spinning plates 08-18-05 09:12 PM

no prices for oldboy, audition, or even the ringu boxset? :(

asianxcore 08-18-05 10:53 PM

Thanks for the prices!

will have to check out CC for the Whats Happening! S3 set.

mifuneral 08-19-05 12:01 AM

Just Sky Captain for me.

bookcase3 08-19-05 12:28 PM

$79.99 for Six Feet Under at Best Buy?! That sale sucks. And no mention of it in both Circuit City and Target?! Even worse. Off to Amazon I go: $69.99.

DJ_Longfellow 08-19-05 12:51 PM

Ring Two for me probably....

JesseCuster8 08-19-05 07:33 PM

My Blockbuster (Olney, MD if anyone cares) has Gladiator NOW for 24.99. I'll bet a lot of other ones do as well.
