Dumb and Dumber, Seabiscuit were priced at $5.99. Plus some others, but can't remember which they were.

I did see(& left) a copy of Batman V3, Looney Tunes v1 & v2(didn't check $) and a Miami Vice S1. I was going to get the Miami Vice, but couldn't get it to scan at the scanners - scanner would read the BC, but wouldn't show ANY info for it. Figured that might cause a problem @ the register, so I left it.
You're right that Miami Vice wouldn't scan at the scanners, but I did buy one and it rang up at the register for 5.99. Glad you were able to get some you wanted while they still had the deal. I've shared quite a few that I bought with friends and family.

The wife and I checked about 25 boxsets today as well as The Jerk and Jaws, and they all rang up regular price. The only thing that was $5.99 was the first boxset I scanned, and that was Moonlighting Season 1 & 2 so I picked that up.

kinda curious - just wondering how many box sets do you think were unloaded at the 5.99 price - hundreds? thousands?

Found a coupon that would save $10 on two MTV sets at Target. If you buy Laguna Beach and/or The Newlyweds this would work.

http://cinemared.target.com/cinemare...promoid=500005

That would make them .99 each.

Well, after taking a tour of Greater Houston, I finally found some of the ones I was missing from my Galveston trip - LHOTP S3,5 & 7, Remington Steele, FF, Newlyweds S1 & 3rd Rock From The Sun.

For the 'fun' of it, I checked Jaws 30th @ those (& other) stores I visited & they were all reg $.

I see what was meant about the Jones Rd/FM1960 Target - shelves were EXTREMELLY bare. That & they didn't have a very big DVD section to begin with - very old store design/size. What I found funny was that several of the (missing) titles had $5.99 stickers on the shelves for them - Joan of Arcadia, FF, etc. Strange they would pull the DVDs, but actually put the stickers on the shelves???

Well, went to the Hadley MA Target earlier today (Sat) and they had fixed the boxset prices (took them almost a week since they were still 5.99 yesterday). Couldn't find The Jerk, but Pocahontas and Mary Poppins were still 5.99. Might check out some of the other DVDs people mentioned some other day. Oh yeah, Bounre Identity was a no go.
Went to Wal Mart afterwards and got some 5.50 DVDs (they even had some superbit ones). To top it all off this weekend is no sales tax here in MA
All in all I'm very happy about what I've gotten out of this deal though. So BIG BIG positive credits to the OP. I didn't get much I wanted for myself since they didn't really have the more popular ones to begin with, but I got a few as gifts and some for trades. Hopefully people are still looking at the trade thread because I still got some left.
This while thing really has felt like a once in a lifetime event. We might have similar pricing errors in the future, but never on such a widespread scale nationwide and lasting for such a long time I think.
Thanks again to the OP and everybody else posting useful info in this thread.

I would say tens of thousands...Seriously. Most people who knew about this deal and 'got in on it' got atleast 10+ boxsets, some more (maybe close toa hundred as some pictures on fat wallet proves).

So, before all the criers come to complain, one thing...

Well, I'm going to guess you're not going to read this since you seem to have ignored the rest of the thread, including the first person who responded the first and second times you asked this question (link here: http://www.dvdtalk.com/forum/showpos...postcount=551), but basically the deal was never active everywhere. Some stores had it, some didn't and it would definitely be rare to find batman for 5.99 at this point, but the only way to know for sure is to go to the store (which you said was an hour away) and check. It probably won't be 5.99, but your mileage might vary.

It seems only one or two stores still have the deal going and those stores are pretty picked over. I wouldn't waste my time if I were you.

There was a mix-up nationally in the pricing workload for Monday. It should be fixed everywhere by now.

Has anyone who went to a Target last week and found the deal, go back this weekend to the same location and find that they restocked and still have the deal?

I'm thinking about going to check it out, but I was just wondering what others have found.

I started a thread after finding Jaws for 5.99 last Saturday (before Monday).

Well I guess I was in the minority because I got ONE of
everything that I could and NOT anymore. I just don't believe
in buying 10 copies to sell and profit on ebay.

I'm really in the minority.
I found 3rd Rock, Monk S3 and Remington Steele for $5.99 on Tuesday, thought about buying them, and then put them back on the shelf and walked out emptyhanded! Didn't really want any of them, and figured I'd leave them for someone who did.
I guess the days of taking advantage of an amazing deal just for the sake of it are over for me!

FWIW, someone on another thread claimed to have picked up a few kids' DVDs for $5.99 (Dora, Heffalump, etc.) AND FF and BAS Season 3 THIS MORNING. So obviously at least one Target in the U.S. hasn't been clued in yet.
