Circuit City ad error on Das Boot
 

If you look in Circuit City's sale paper, they have the 2-disc Das Boot Uncut Version pictured for $9.99. It's not in the bin. They have the old 1-disc in there. Since I was the first person to ask about this dvd, the manager gave in and sold me their only 2-disc version for $9.99 that's normally priced at $34.95.

The manager then put an ad error on the $9.99 bin showing the correction.

price match time

I couldn't price match at Best Buy because there was none at any of the 4 local stores. I think they pulled the 2-disc sets off their selves.

damn, already have the Superbit and havent even watched that yet, or I would try to PM this somewhere.

I tried to pick this up, but none of the Circuit City stores, Wal-Marts, or Best Buy stores have any of these in stock. If someone could purchase one of the Uncut DVDs for $10, I'll give you $15 for it shipped!

Huh, I saw this at Costco for $10 so I don't think it's a misprint.

I picked up the only copy in the store. It rang up as $34.99 but the manager gave it to me at $9.99 because it was the one pictured in the ad. After he walked away from me, I saw him telling an employee what happened and that they need to put up a correction.

It was. I picked it up and showed it to my wife but I figured if it was that price then, I could wait until later to get it.

Guessed I messed up since I didn't get it and odds are it won't be that price when I go back.

If it is in stock, chances are it will still be at that price. Costco rarely changes prices and rarely stocks multiple versions of the same one. I would hurry back ASAP if I were you.

CC didn't have it when I went tonight, but I'll try another one tomorrow. I'm not holding my breath though. Thanks for the heads up OP!

My Circuit City refused to give me a rain check for the advertised Das Boot. The sales clerk (after discussion with his manager) said the ad picture was in error, and that the $9.99 offer was for Das Boot: The Director's Cut. I objected, but they didn't give a $hit.

MY CC also refused to sell it to me at the sale price. I was told that "they sometimes put the wrong picture, it doesn't mean we are obligated to sell that version".

The uncut version is on sale for $19.99 at Fred Meyer if you are in the NW area.

The Uncut version was $18.99 at the Costco I was at yesterday.

I can't believe I triple dipped.

I just checked and like the post above, it was 18.99 at costco for me. Was there a coupon or special promotion? Was this several weeks ago or last week?

Man, sweet. Thanks for the thread! At first I was going to price match it at Best Buy but they didn't have any at any of the locations near me. Afterwards I called Circuit City which had one more in stock. I ran over there and grabbed the last copy. I told the cashier I was aware it was probably misprint but it should still be honored as it was pictured and there was no text contrasting with the picture. She talked with two other associates and when she returned she agreed to match the ad. I freakin' skipped and giggled out of the store.

I did a price match at fred meyer's for $9.99 SWEET.....
