$8.99 Disney DVD's at Best Buy

To celebrate the 50th anniversary of Disneyland, we're offering some of the most popular Disney DVDs at the amazing price of $8.99.

Titles like Pirates of the Caribbean and Aladdin are normally between $14.99 and $22.99, so don't delay!

Prices are good through 7/2/05.

If you don't have any luck at BB, KMart has them for a penny more.

I tried this once, but they wouldn't let me use when I picked up a bestbuy.com order.

Um, of course not. The deal is going on in-store, though, so you don't have to order online. It is in the weekly ad thread.

I wouldn't expect the employees to be much help. There are so many different kinds of GCs, that it can be hard keeping track. Specific GC location varies from store to store, but here are some places to check: Near each of the cash registers, on the displays in the front aisle (check both sides), behind the CSRs, new release cds, and cd/dvd storage. Good luck.

Try looking for the Disney GC's by the Disney dvds. That's where I found them at my store.

It if helps, the Disney GCs are in a CD-size case case with blue artwork.

If you try to purchase Pirates of the Caribbean using the coupon, it will not work. The cashier will have to have someone override the price for you. This could be a potential headache, as the staff might not want to allow you to use the coupon at all.

The best way to make use of the coupon, for me at least, was to buy one more Disney DVD from my wantlist that's not a part of the sale. For example, the only two titles I was interested in from this sale were Mulan and Brother Bear (already have Aladdin). I picked up those two, and a copy of Pocahontas...used the coupon, and ended up paying $33 out the door for all three. It's a good way to extend this sale to Disney titles that aren't already included in the sale (even better if there are three titles you want in the sale, since that'll knock $15 off the one that isn't and virtually even it up with the ones that are on sale).

So, I made one trip to the register. I purchased the gift card for $30. Turned right around and rang up the DVD's on the next purchase, and used the coupon. I used the gift card to pay for the bulk, and made up the difference with my credit card (wouldn't have been necessary if I had taken the time to do the math instead of guesstimating my total). Ended up with:

-Mulan
-Brother Bear
-Pocahontas

...for $33 after tax (about half-price, all told).

Thanks to the OP, and to daddydaryl for mentioning the coupon.

Mulan SE 5.66
Brother Bear 5.65
Three Musketeers 5.66
Haunted House 8.99

I used a Disney CD-ROM Coupon from the gift card. I got $10 off and I was going to argue why I didn't get $15 off, but I could not complain because I did not have to purchase the Gift Card and the guy didn't take the coupon ;-)

Good Luck...

I'm so pissed. I got shafted -

bought a gift card $33

bought four

- Brother Bear 6.62
- Mulan 6.62
- Emperor's New Groove 14.73
- Treasure Planet 25.99 (Best Buy sticker price: 19.99)

SubTotal 53.96
tax 3.10
Total 57.06
Gift Card -33.00
difference 24.06

so essentially I spent $57.06 for four DVD's

oh brother, I thought the Disney CD-ROM Coupon was $15 off four DVD's?

That guy didn't do you any favors. You can purchase a gift card for a penny if you want.

By the way, I tried picking up another batch of four to give away, and the discount only worked for three titles. A good idea might be to purchase at the CS desk so getting the extra $5 is a little less of a hassle.

you should at least go back and get credited the $6 for Treasure Planet since it was stickered at $19.99. While you're there, argue for the extra $5 that the gift card says.
