Due South season sets at Best Buy Cheap!
Best Buy had season one of Due South for $21.99 (closest price via dvdpricesearch was $49.19 from dvdsoon) and season two for $16.99 (closest price was $49.14 also from dvdsoon). Season three was not in stock (forgot to ask if it's available). This must be a revamping of the season sets as season one also includes the pilot episode, instead of it being tacked on the end of the third season set.

all those who are interested in this should read http://www.tvshowsondvd.com/newsitem.cfm?NewsID=3009 ..I don't think I've seen any reviews of the "USA" release ..don't know if BB is selling the canadian "import" or as the user above said the Platinum release with the Alliance logo..

I have Season 1 and Season 2 from Best Buy. They are the Platinum release and come in different packaging than the Canadian versions. The discs are single sided, unlike the Canadian ones, which I think are double sided. I can't complain about the picture quality, but I'm just a casual home theater person and don't have the discerning eye some do.
I've noticed the episodes only have the instrumental theme over the opening credits and vocals at the end. It's been a long time since I've seen the show or looked at the eps I have saved on VHS. Was it always like that?

Buyer beware: Platinum Video
I would be very cautious before buying anything from "Platinum Video". I have three movies from them and the quality is terrible. One of them is an R rated movie but they have some edited, sensored TV version on the disc.

The ten percent for TV sets comes off automatically. Should work no matter how many you bought. If you have a coupon they mailed you, you'll get another ten percent off to boot.

the quality sucks big time on this. I had to return my set to best buy because the 1st disc wouldnt play. and the 3rd disc pixelated throughout the episode. I could not watch it since it was pretty annoying to say the least! so much for these platinum copies. its no wonder the "original" alliance discs are more expensive.

I just got season 1 and haven't had a chance to watch it. However, I've already watched four episodes of season 2 and haven't noticed anything wrong with the picture quality. It's not stellar, but it's definitely watchable.
