Did anyone see the Lethal Weapon 2 DIRECTOR'S CUT in their Walmart's $4.88 display or was it the old edition?

The Devil's Advocate I saw at Walmart was widescreen (no "full frame" transfer included). DVD Price Search only lists a widescreen edition. Why Walmart.com lists full frame is unknown.

A Time to Kill was a flipper a couple years ago. It's possible but unlikely that they converted it to a DVD-9 without telling anyone. I doubt anyone is going to buy it to open it to see if it's a flipper given the high probability.

Just the old version in the 3 Virginia Beach Walmarts.

I'm headed to my local Walmart soon. I hope they have this display and actually have some in stock. There are several I need. But, my Walmart is always a madhouse, so most are probably gone.

I'll post when I pick this up later on today. For less than $5 I'll live with flipping and not feel bad if I have to double dip later.

Picked up:

Devil’s Advocate: Special Edition
Lethal Weapon 3: Director’s Cut
Three Amigos

Passed on Lethal Weapon 2, as it wasn’t the DC version.

Picked up
Demolition Man
Lethal Weapon 2 - They didn't have the DC is there any advantage to the DC other than the extra footage?
Lethal Weapon 3 - DC
A Time to Kill - Yes it's still a flipper

Any idea when this is scheduled to end? Father's Day? There's still 4 or 5 I would pick up if this ran through my next paycheck.

Thanks for the confirmations that Lethal Weapon 2 is not the Director's Cut at most stores. I was wondering if only my store messed up or it was more widespread. Apparently only at 1 store and online is the DC shown.

If anyone orders LW 2 online and gets the DC or if people start to see the DC at local stores, please post here. I don't plan to go back to Walmart to check the $4.88 display again unless I see people report new titles or the LW 2 DC start showing up.

Mrs. Nesbit (of Monty Python fame?), the advantage of the DC is the extra footage plus DTS. When I want to know the difference between various DVD releases, I always start at DVD-Basen - http://www.dvd-basen.dk/uk/home.php3, and I think you could find the details of the LW DCs there. (Unfortunately some titles don't have DVD reviews anywhere, such as Junior with Arnold Schwarzenegger or titles by places like "Platinum", but on popular stuff DVD-Basen is good.)

My Walmart had several Freqency in keepcases.
They also had Deep Cover and Set it Off in keepcases too.

I'm still looking for Little Nicky in a keepcase but all they have are snappers

I picked up Frequency in the dreaded snapper case. Since I haven't gotten to open it yet, I'll probably look for the keepcase version in another Walmart, and then return the snapper version.

I picked up Money Talks for $4.88 last week in one of those glorious keepcases! A rare find for that title, so i was happy. Out of the 4 other titles i purchased, only The Negotiator was still in a crappy old cardboard snapper.

I found Rush Hour in keepcase. Is it identical to the earlier snapper version? Btw, does it come with an insert?

Pay no shipping when you pick up your order in a Dallas-Fort Worth store!

Customers in the Dallas-Fort Worth, Texas area are invited to try our new pilot program. Thousands of Walmart.com items, available only online, can be purchased online and picked up at select Dallas-Fort Worth area stores. After order processing (1-2 days on average), items arrive in-store about
7-10 business days after the order is processed, and you'll pay no shipping fees!

Here's how it works:
1. Choose from thousands of online items like sports equipment, electronics, baby gear, and furniture - items that aren't available in Wal-Mart Stores.
2. Select the Free Store Delivery option during checkout. Let us know who the pickup person will be.
3. Pay for your order online.
4. Receive a Ready at Store email when your order is processed (about 1-2 days on average) and is ready for pickup (takes about 7-10 business days).
5. Go to your store's Layaway Counter to pick up your order. You'll need a valid Photo I.D and a printout of the Ready at Store email. You will be required to sign for your order when you pick it up.

Wow, at one of my local walmarts they had stacks upon stacks of these movies in two different places near the check out lanes. It kinda makes me think twice about buying a new release dvd when it comes out or purchasing any Dvd for more than 7 or 8 bucks! Man, 4.88 is down right cheap! Is this the beginning of a dvd price war with BB, CC, and target? I hope so.......WAR, WAR, WAR, WAR

PS. Check out walmarts 2 packs movie for 9.44 when you are there for the 4.88 titles!

I picked up Devil's Advocate and Deep Blue Sea. I was particulary pleased about getting Devil's Advocate. I had seen it once at WalMart in the $5 price range. Came home to check the review first, went back the next day to get it and... it was gone. Not just the title. The entire display was GONE!

So I still got it, and for even less! That's another VHS retired.

I do want Poltergeist, but I'm going to keep waiting for a new release.
