Movie Box Sets (Spider-man 2,etc.) at Wal-mart for $19.96

Just got back from a local Wal-mart and it looks like they put out a new display of collector edition box sets for $19.96. They had the Spider-man 2 box set, Black Hawk Down 3 Disc Set, and CE box sets of Monty Python and the Holy Grail, Dark Crystal and Labyrinth. These box sets go for $31.96 to $44.96 at Amazon.com. As always, YMMV at different Wal-marts.

Thanks for the skinny Father. I just got back from the Shelton, Connecticut location and they had these for just $17 each. I picked up Labyrinth and Dark Crystal because I already had the other three.

It was located about forty feet past the Electronics Dept.(the main DVD area) in its' own cardboard stand-up display.

Since you didn't buy it because your g'f said it looked stupid, I take it that means you've never seen it?

Mine didn't have the display or any copies of the four movies I was looking for.

Hopefully a display will pop up within the week like the animation box sets' delay.

A few days ago when I first read this thread, I didn't see any at my local Wal-Mart. Today, however, they had a huge stand - same titles as the ones the original poster listed. I picked up Spider-Man 2 and Black Hawk Down. I *might* pick up Labyrinth if it's there still the next time I stop in.

If you haven't seen a display yet at your local Wal-Mart, it may still be coming.

Thanks for the heads up!

Labyrinth was the one they had the least off. Next was Dark Crystal, and then Monty Python and the Holy Grail. They had tons of Spidey and BHD. And the walmart I found them it looked like a brand new display. So I would assume they did not get alot of the ones I mentioned first.

I have checked all 3 local Wal-Marts and have not spotted anything. I am not losing hope though. It seems like the stores here were a week or two behind with that TV set deal a while back.

For those of you that have seen the displays, how big are they?

The McCarthy Ranch Walmart in Milpitas (not far from San Jose, CA) has a nice large display in the electronics isle. They had tons of SM 2s, BHDs, lots of Month Pythons, and much less of The Dark Crystal, Labyrinth. I picked up a couple of SM2s (makes a great gift for my father, one for myself), and a Labyrinth and The Dark Crystal to eBay. I think I may go back and pick up a Monty Python (heck, I bet I can watch it and still make almost all my money back on eBay).

For some reason, I feel that I should pick up another Dark Crystal and Labyrinth (maybe even make it two copies of The Holy Grail)...just a gut feeling that come the holidays, I will be able to make a few bucks with these titles on eBay.

Yes, I am one of those pesky eBayers I am a SJSU grad student who needs the money.

Love these forums, glad I finally registered (I have been checking these forums out, especially the bargain threads, daily, for several weeks now).

Regards
Christopher H
