This is not a place to buy from if you want something right away. Case in point, I ordered The Scorsese Collection on 3/3/05 and just received it on 4/29/05.

Some other problems that ppl have with them are that they charge your CC right away to lock in the current exchange rate. If an item gets lost in the mail, you have to wait 30 business days for them to declare it as lost and have them reship it.

Also, you have to figure in the 1% foreign transaction fee your MasterCard or Visa will charge you when you are figuring the total price.

They do take awhile to send it to you, but if you are not in a hurry, I have had no other problems buying form them.

not all credit cards charge a fee for foreign transactions. i have an mbna world mastercard that never charges me such a fee. i echo your sentiments on buying from dvdsoon. i have ordered from them at least 20 times and if you don't mind the wait and the immediate charge to your cc they are hard to beat on a cost value basis and have always come through for me. i am waiting for an order i made recently composed mostly of the midnight double features and reanimator me. my best buy recently raised the prices on these mdf's to $10.99 so i decided to pick a few of them up before they get even harder to find. i was upset that i could only add 8 items to my dvdsoon cart though, or i would have ordered many more.

According to their website some of the DVD's you purchase from them can have French or French Canadian writing on the boxes, and ar enot always the US versions of the DVD's. Has anyone ever had an experience with this?

just look at the description and see if it says Bilingual Packaging. Also, make sure that you cross-reference the UPC to another site (say DVDEmpire.com) to see if the UPCs match.

Even if there is French writing, they are still Region 1 DVDs so they'll still play in your DVD Player.

i've gotten orders from them before. it's true that they take longer than usual but the discs do come. i've got two things that aren't going to be released until the 10th, two days from now. so i don't know if they're going to send everything monday or send most monday and the other two on tuesday.
the only way you're going to get something with french on the cover is if it has v.f. on their page over there.

I read a few months ago that they were Rereleasing the Godfather collection with better prints. So maybe they're trying to clear out the older versions in anticipation of the newer ones?

In any event, if you don't own this collection, you really should!! I've been a fan for decades - and Copolla's commentary track on the films is simply awesome in terms of pointing out all kinds of new stuff and making my all time favorite movies even MORE enjoyable.

Yeah, be careful with dvdsoon. I ordered the Ingmar Begman set from them almost two months ago and it's still pending......although they didn't hesitate to bill me. Hopefully it'll ship sometime this year.......
