Amex dvd "deal"? The one comes with the credit card bill...

Just got my Amex bill for this month, it got a little promotional thingy along with it... It says I got a "thank you" credit of $62 and i can talk up to 10 dvds for $9.95 each with $4 shipping fee for the entire order. Oh, no membership to join... Now, my question is, the $62 is already counted in or does it apply to the order? If it's the latter, i can take up to six dvds and paid only $2! Or better yet, if i just pick five, i still got a credit of $8. I'm not sure how this works, is this a gimmick or a true bargain? I'll call them for more detail, but i want to share this first... Oh, last thing, the list of dvds is pretty limited, but it got some cool titles like A Beautiful Mind, Perfect Murder, A Few Good Men, etc...

What type of American Express card do you have? It wasn't on my Corporate card statement nor on a friend's Blue card statement.

I have the clear blue card, you know, the one looks like a clear glass with a square blue chip in the middle... Oh, the coupon days VIP Thank-You certificate and expires 6/15/05.

Ok, called the VIP line and got the answer back... The $62 is already "deducted" from the "retail" value of the dvds. This means the offer is for the list of dvds for $10 each. So, it's not really a hot deal.

I got a similar offer in my VISA card bill last month. I ditched it right away.
